Lovers - How Will They React?

Any ideas on what the lovers card means in regards to how someone will react?

Does this mean they will react in a lovy dovey/flirty sort of way, or is there more to the card in this position than that? Or could it just simply mean they will react very favorably to it?

Certainly a positive card (particularly when viewed with your full spread/card draws). I submit that The Lover's response is furtherance of the need/want to please those with whom he/she is intimate. That being said, The Lover's response will also be to demand something in return. Do not push this person to the limit, however, as The Lover becomes distant, detached, and even uncaring.

Create a situation wherein The Lover feels safe from loss and abandonment and you have a lover for life.

Remember that being loved is a great responsibility.

I do have a post on this reading in your readings forum, this discussion is still strictly dealing with the Lovers Card.

These were the 3 cards and positions in the spread.With The World essentially meaning the end of the cycle, and things coming together and things of that nature.How does that affect the meaning of the lovers card here?


1.How will they react to what I say? - The Lovers
2.How will they respond to what I say - The World
3.How will things be between us after I say it - 6 of Pentacles

I would take it as they would respond to the situation in a consultative way. What is the question? If it's about work, or study, or making decisions about a new home or something, I'd take it that their best option is to make decisions and choices in a partnership-type frame, not alone. Even if they are single, they may want to talk to best friends, role-models, or people with specialist bodies of knowledge before making a decision.

I'd say with the Lovers as a reaction, you'd probably see that as being forced to make a decision between two things or two people. I don't think you'd be able to consider it to be someone suddenly and madly in love with someone as in soulmate love, which is the other way a lot of people seem to see the card.

I posted the other cards simply because I was trying to get the Lovers card definition in that situation.Hard to say this card means exactly this in the reading when the meanings of the other card can affect what it means.

I already have my reading up anyways.I am not looking for the meaning of the actual reading, just for the Lovers card here.
