My (Playing Card) Lenormand Method

mystic Guy

Hi Guy's

It drives me nuts when you get little bits of grime building up on Lenormand Decks,
so i'v started using playing cards (but with my own meanings on the cards) ,I use

The Clubs symbol has three loops on top so I use them for all the Thirties.

The Heart symbol has two loops on top so I use them for all the Twenties.

The Spades symbol has a spike on top so I use them for all the Teens.

And the Diamonds I use for all the single numbers. (10 of Diamonds is 10 the Scythe)

I just use the one (Ace) to tens in the deck , (Minus the 7 to 10 of Clubs)
so the 2 of Clubs would be 30 and 2 =The Moon
The 7 of Hearts , the two loops on the heart is twenty, so 20 and 7 = 27 The Letter.

Ace of Diamonds is 1 the Rider, Ace of Spades is 11 the Whip,
Ace of Heart is 20 for hearts (all hearts are twenty)and 1 = 21 the Mountain,
Ace of Clubs , ( all clubs are thirty) so 30 and 1 = 31 the Sun.

10 of Diamonds is 10 the Scythe
10 of Spades is ten plus ten , 20 the Park
10 of Hearts , all hearts are twenty plus the ten on the card is 30 the Lily.

I take out the 8 of Hearts = 28 The Man and replace it with the King of Hearts,
And also the 9 of Hearts = 29 The Woman and replace that with Queen of Hearts.

If you already know the Lenormand card numbers off the top of your head
ie 15 the Bear , 12 the Birds and so on then this will be easy to get used to.
Also I would imagine reading for someone the shock value would be amplified
if you were just using playing cards.

Works great for me if like give it a go.

Bye Guy's

How important are the numbers in the Lenormand system?

How important are the numbers in the Lenormand system?

The numbers are basically used for timing. For instance the Rider #1 = 1 day, 1 week, one month...Clover #2 = 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months.
You get the idea...

Hi
They are the numbers known and used the world over ,
ie if you said 4 and 7 I would know it was the House and
the Snake so they are kinda are important.

and for timing also.

I know what ya mean, that especially happens to my Iris Lenormand. I replace those every few months because to trigger intuition that deck works best for me (maybe because it was my very first Lenormand deck and only used that one for a while). They also become hard to shuffle and fan out because they don't have laminate coating.

I'm glad your method with the playing cards works for you. But it wouldn't work for me, believe me. For some reason I NEED the pictures using Lenormand. I cannot imagine trying the Grand Tableau with playing cards. :D

I've never used the numbers that way, but might try it out. That said, the numbers also represent the houses in the treppner system I believe. IE: if you lay them out in sequence using a 8x4 +4, so that when a card falls in the 8th position, it takes on the coffin's characteristics.

It's an ingenious system and I plan to try it out - thank you for sharing this, mystic Guy.

Thanks for all the responses! But 'xactly what I was afraid of--something else to memorize
