Roccabianca card-playing fresco

DoctorArcanus

At the Sforza Castle in Milan it is possible to see a fresco cycle with astrological images (on the ceiling) and illustrations from the Griselda tale from the Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio (on the walls). The frescos originally were in a room of the beautiful Roccabianca Castle.
One of the images presents a card playing scene:

This scene is reproduced in Kaplan II, pg.7.

The frescoes are dated 1446-1460. The author is unknown. Some attribute the frescoes to Antonio da Cicognara, who is also considered as a likely author for the non-Bembo cards in the Visconti-Sforza Tarot deck.
