Pao, I wouldn't write off this friendship just yet, as the Six of Cups can also mean that someone from one's past is about to show up in her life again. At any rate, it isn't like you got the Seven of Swords as the answer to begin with; the Six of Cups is (IMO) much softer and emotional. I have also seen it come up when someone wants to make amends but may not know how to go about it at the moment.
