Spread to clarify a reading?

Clover329

Hi All,

So I went to my local mystical shop the other day and had a reading done with the medium there. She brought up some things that I would like some more insight/clarification to. Some of the points are my grandmother's spirit is around me, the medium also asked if I was coming into some money and I want to know more about that.

What are some good spreads to learn more about these things? Is there one to ask my grandmother why she is around me and if she has advice for me or something to tell me? Is the money she mentioned about my grandfather? Is he going to pass soon and leave me an inheritance?

Also, since I am new at tarot, I never introduced myself to my deck or have it intro itself to me. Is it to late to do that? What's a good spread for intros?

Thanks,
Clover

Welcome Clover,
There isn't ANY thing you HAVE to do to any deck, new or old.

The interview spread is just a fun way to use a new deck.
FireRaven put this in our files July/05

5 6
4
2 3
1

1. Most important characteristic
2. what are your strengths
3. what are your weaknesses
4. what are you here to teach me
5. How can I best learn from and collaborate with you
6. Potential outcome of relationships.

More to the point, because a deck is only as good as the reader on that day, I like this spread by ShadowDancer from June/06

1. What is my strength as a reader
2. What is my weakness
3. Why have I chosen to do tarot
4. How can I develop more fully
5. How to deal with reading that don't go well
6. What should I avoid.

What did your gut tell you about the reader you went to? If I were a little shady I might decide to always include a carrot on a stick to get the sitter to come back.
He/she already has you wondering about that carrot, and I'll bet you are thinking about booking another appointment. Right?

Here is the master list of AT spreads

If you just do one of these a day for practice you'll shortly be much more comfortable with your decks.

Good luck on the journey, and welcome to AT

Hi AJ,

Thank you for the response. After I posted this I went looking through the tarot spreads and came across the "intro" spread you mentioned. I am reading the "Tarot Bible" right now and plan on doing the Intro spread in the next day or so. I really like it.

As for the "carrot", yes, she definitely gave me a few of those. I believe the woman is a co-owner of the mystical shop I go to. My girlfriend also had a reading done and she was spot on with her. I don't think the woman is a con by any means, but I do understand the want/need for repeat business. That's her job, right? I only did a 15 minute reading with her. Yes, I would like to go back to her. She mentioned that the color purple is all around me and that the color signifies intuitive/psychic abilities. She is the second person to tell me I have these skills. I definitely want to develop it further, tho not sure if I want to go as far as becoming a medium.

I guess a spread that I was looking for was one that I could get more info on my grandmother. The woman asked me if I was coming into a lot of money and my first reaction was "Is my grandfather going to pass away soon?" The only way I see money coming into my life is through an inheritance. Is my grandmother hanging around to escort my grandfather?

I will go through the spread index more and see if I can find a good one to answer those questions for me.

Thank you for the welcome. I've been on "lurking" around for a few weeks now and am loving this forum!

Thanks again!
Clover

Another good thing to do (I think I read this on here) when you are getting a reading from someone is to write down the cards and their position. You can always go home and lay them back out and see something maybe they didn't see. You can also draw extra cards after you lay those out to clarify certain points.

Another thing you may do is remember what questions you came away from the reading with and do small readings on just those questions, like a reading on just money or just a relationship. That way you will get more specific answers for just those questions without any extraneous stuff.

AJ is right about the carrots. You see them all the time with the "free reading" sect. "Heres a free reading where I tell you about a bunch of really great 'carrots' but nothing on how to get them." And then I offer to tell you for a nominal fee (roughly the amount of my car payment). I am sure whoever you went to for your reading is reputable, just beware of the rest.
