The Persistence of Strength

Rhoswen

Last night I was using Corrine Kenner's Tarot for Writers, pulling cards to create characters for a story. (DruidCraft is the deck.)

For the protagonist, I pulled the 9 of Swords. Great, I thought—a juicy place from which to build a main character.

I debated whether to use the next card for the antagonist or to re-shuffle. I peeked at the next card: Strength. That looked... a little much.

So I re-shuffled 3–4 times. Cut. Picked a top card from one of the piles.

It was... Strength!

I'm still new enough at tarot to be startled by such happenings.
