Victorian Flower Oracle: Narcissus-Vanity

Barbaras Ahajusts

This flower looks at the little ones in the pond pleading with her, wanting her attention, but she seems to have a blank stare. Bored with their attentions, she seems to be ready to turn & walk away.
Not enough time for anyone but herself. She sees only herself & that her needs are first & foremost.

I see this card as someone who might placate you for a while, but don't involved your self with them. You might be a time related dalliance. So don't even try to get their attention. They see only them self. Let them go.

"Oh I'm sorry, were you talking to me?
I'm sorry, I wasn't listening.
No, really! I don't care!
Don't I look beautiful, today? Yes I do!
Of course, I always do."

There is also a reminder of self worth here and inequality. Who begs for attention, and why? Who looks down at another, and why? Perhaps the one who looks down has the perception of being better, or merely the perception that the other is not good enough? Does the one who looks up see the other as better, or is it that they see themselves as unworthy?
