what stones and crystals can be easily carved?

so I've been thinking about doing my own rune set , I wanna buy a cheap dremel , but Im not sure wich crystals are soft enough so they wont break a cheap dremel , but strong enough that they dont crack the tumbled stones. has anyone had any experience with it?
because I dont want to just paint them , I want the symbols forever engraved in them!

Hey Minos, I don't know that I really have an answer for you as I have never tried to do this. But I do find it interesting that I was considering doing the same thing at some point as I have seen some crystal rune sets online and thought they were amazing. The ones I've seen were done in rose quartz and clear quartz.

Soap Stone works very well for carving with, Mino...als, sopastone can be polished to an incredibly smooth and shiny finish, and only needs occasional rubs with Vaseline or with olive oil to keep their sheen. You can also try Sodalite, which is lovely to look at as well as being very grounding
