Seven Stars' Samhain Deck of the Dead

I got my deck today - I got the large-sized one with pouch. Goodness, Seven Stars has excelled herself. This is the most stupendously, crazily baroque tarot creation I have ever seen. I am absolutely gobsmacked by it. Not for minimalists.

Every single thing I ever dreamed of in a deck is here. I think in one of those threads from years ago, you know, that "what style of deck do you wish existed?" and I think I said I wanted a deck with Flemish engravings from the 17th Century. Well here it is, in all its deliriously distorted gothick wond'rousness. That and more. I have no words to describe it - except that it is the deck for which my soul has yearned for years. Like 78 family portraits of wayward ancestors you don't want anyone to know you had.

It doesn't seem to have its own thread - all comments to date seem to be in the Advertisement section. Moongypsy has posted some lovely photos - would she mind terribly if I posted a link here? I'm sure she wouldn't as it would bring more people in to share the love. The deck in these pictures are the smaller ones, mine are bigger. I wanted as big as possible because of the intricacies of the engraving. The collage work is fantastic. Don't know what else to say - all I can do is ramble gibberish, gushing love - but I hope to post an (articulate) review sometime soon...

i also have a Tarot Sized Deck on its way to me, and after i treat the edges--i will post more pics...

you guys are making me blush!!!!! geeez!!!!! Where is an art historian when you need one to put me back in my place?

I'm doin a *thing*.....was going to send out emails today at some point....I'm hoping to get people interested in gifting the deck so I'm doin a thing on the website where if you buy one you get the 2nd one half price, for the tarot & large size. The bridge size, I can do the same thing if you get 3 decks, the 2nd & 3rd are half price.

I also made the Samhain DOB II in bridge size, it's not on the website yet....after seeing the Deck of the Dead in lil bitty cards it was just so freakin cute I wanted to make more of the decks little pocket versions.

It's fixed...ya, they're usually not too bad I mean it's not rocket science & Wix is a pretty easy program to make sites with. I like them a lot.

So does Deck of the Dead have a mini/pocket version or is this the Bridge size you're referring to here? I always find the size issue a bit complicated (as one who never really knows the difference between Poker and Bridge size. I research it and then forget.)

If I can just affirm - the large Deck of the Dead is just breathtaking. But I suppose a mini would be "Elizabethan miniature" style...
