What would you say is the scariest/creepiest Tarot deck?

FLizarraga

But, but, Fliz! I love the Tyldwick. It puts voices in my head. :)

Yeah? And you're not scared of THAT? :p

Seriously, though, it's probably one of the most beautiful decks I have ever held in my hands. But I agree with Electric Maenad.

I have to agree with this. There's nothing overtly creepy or macabre about the deck, just the deeply unsettling feeling you get in a completely empty room with your back to the door.

It made my fingers ache, seriously. Plus it did give me nightmares --only deck EVER to do that.

Hahaha, not at all! I'm a writer, and I get inspiration from everywhere and everything, and yes, even from that. :) I can understand how it can be cold and sinister, though. Maybe I'm the target audience!

Luna's Crone

book

Does anyone else think the Book of Azathoth Tarot is mildly creepy?

I just looked it up and i got cold chilled and choked on my pop. omg what an awful creepy deck. although I would have had a blast doing those graphics. thats right up my alley.

Luna's Crone

Legacy of the Divine. When I first got it, I looked through about half of the deck and got so weirded out that I put it away in disgust. I haven't touched it since.

me too. It creeped me out so bad. I have the gilded and the oracle of visions but that. ugh.

Luna's Crone

I had to look it up--anything that creeps out one of the all-time great tarot collectors stirs my curiosity.

So here's Scapini's seriously creepy death card.

I kinda liked the art and style of the death card. didn't find it creepy at all. It's just death.

Luna's Crone

Can someone explain to me WHY you find the Thoth so scary? I don't get it. It's just very honest imho. Maybe that's what's scary, how direct it is? To me, the message from that deck - it has even said so itself - is about integrating one's inner light and dark, and self-acceptance. The most dangerous people to me are the ones who try to keep a lid on something, because you know it will explode beyond their control.

i don't find it scary at all. so i have the same question

Luna's Crone

This made me laugh, but also brought back awful memories. The so-called Miami Zombie incident (please don't Google it if you don't want to see some truly horrifying images) took place half a block away from where I was at the moment. Now THAT was scary.

oh gawd, that would have creeped me out. just thinking of it creeps me out. illlliiiccck
