Crystal Tarot card descriptions: Pentacles

The Pentacles are associated with Earth. They have different pattern on them, but they’re all round, and all colored in red, orange, and yellow. The backgrounds are mostly blue/green, with some purple to indicate the dirt.

The Ace of Pentacles is a large disk filling the center of the card. It looks like a shield. There are concentric circles and triangles radiating outwards between the circles. Above and below the disk are intersecting curves with leaf patterns.

The 2 of Pentacles has a sun in the sky, with a face on it, a bird head in each upper corner facing the sun, a horizon in the middle of the card, and an equal sized disk in the ground. It has concentric circles with an upside down Venus sign in the middle, a 6 flower petals radiating in the outer band of the disk. There are two plants growing, one on each side of the disks. They have 3 leave pointing up, and roots beneath the horizon.

The 3 of Pentacles has one disk above the ground, touching the horizon, and two disks side by side, beneath the ground by about an inch. They look like coins. There are plants growing, curving around the disks.

The 4 of Pentacles has two pairs of disks, side by side. The upper left disk has concentric circles, the upper right has a quarterfoil with concentric circles in the middle. The lower pair of disks have concentric circles with a square in each disk. The background is a design of intersecting curves, some touch in the middle, some frame the middle.

The 5 of Pentacles has the disks arranged like an inverted V. There is a 5-pointed star in the middle of the background. There is a disk on each side of the star, touching the star beneath the arms, and another pair on each side of the top point, touching the horizontal bar and the point’s sides. The uppermost disk is floating above the star. All of the disks have five pointed stars on them. The background has intersecting curves.

The 6 of Pentacles has the disks arranged in a hexagon, with a horizon line between the top three and the bottom three. There is a woven hexagon centered between the disks, in the background. The upper disks have six pointed stars in them, the lower disks have 6 petal flowers in them. The upper background is green and blue, the below ground is brown and purplish.

The 7 of Pentacles has the disks arranged in two columns of three disks, with the seventh disk centered and floating above the columns. The horizon line is in the middle of the card, between the upper three, which form a triangle, and the lower four, which form a square. The ground is brown, the upper background is blue and green. The top disk has a face on it, it might be the sun, or it might be a sunflower. The other disks have 8-pointed stars or 8 petal flowers on them.

The 8 of Pentacles references the 5 of Pentacles. You have the star in the middle with the disks forming an inverted V around it, and three more disks on the bottom. One is touching the two lower legs of the star, and the other two are floating below it, one on each side. The new disks have 6-pointed stars on them, in contrast to the 5-pointed stars on the other 5 disks. The background is the same, with intersecting curves.

The 9 of Pentacles references the 7 of Pentacles. There are the two columns of three disks each, with a seventh disk centered above them. Now there are another two disks in a vertical line below the topmost disk. The new disks are offset vertically from the two columns of disks, so the center of the middle disk is the center of the horizon line. The edges of the disks touch, except for the topmost disk with the face on it. The new disks have flower petals on them.

The 10 of Pentacles references the 6 of Pentacles. There is the central hexagon in the background, and two columns of four disks each on each side of it. The former top and bottom disks are now the center disks in an arrangement of five disks on each side of the horizon line. Think of a five on dice, you have a dot in each corner, and one in the middle. That is the arrangement on both the top and bottom halves of the card. The two new top disks have 6-rayed flowers in their centers, the two new bottom disks have 6-pointed stars in them.
