New Vision - The Fool

Viewed from behind, this card is very similar to the trad RWS regarding the scenery, coloring, clothing, dog, white rose, staff with bag, etc. The dog, however, is peeking up from below the edge of the precipice instead of following the Fool, there is an ative volcano in the distance and there's some kind of rock formation that looks like, erm, half a male's anatomy. What exactly is going on behind the scene here?

I always read the volcano as the Fool entering dangerous and unpredictable territory. That said, I increasingly see the Fool as representing sexual ecstasy. Or sexual freedom.

Makes sense. And your sex thing explains that phallic symbol...
