It is an interesting book. I have only really skimmed the surface but will look into it a little further.

I bought a copy of The Complete Book of Fortune Telling a couple of years ago for about $6 from Half-Price Books. My copy is a modern reprint edition. Until I saw this thread, though, I had largely forgotten about it. I'm looking forward to dusting it off tonight after work and reading through the tarot section

My last post was 10 hours ago. I've just spent the whole day
sitting in a little court room with 40 other U.S. citizens being
screened for jury duty. They never even called my number,
so I'm good there for another year. What a long, long day...

I took my copy of The Complete Book of Fortune (Telling)
with me and have been analysing the descriptions of the
Majors ~ many descriptions would match Oswald Wirth's
beautiful masterpiece ~ I found some datable entries too.

Now though, I'm going to have a hot shower and a nap...

My daughter got a similar summons last week . I was wondering what would happen if she told them she never makes any decisions without consulting the tarot . Do you think it would be an automatic dismiss ?

You'd be surprised at the questions about what they do
at home and such that the lawyers and judge would ask.
And if I'd been called (I was #13) there I would've been,
the longest hair in the whole building and my little book!

I have read this thread with interest, and so, when I saw the original 'Complete Book of Fortune' (the green one with the owl etc.) in a second hand book shop for very little money, of course I snapped it up.

Imagine my surprise, back at home, when first flicking through it, to find a four leaf clover pressed between it's pages!
Further searching revealed another four!
Beautifully preserved.

They could have been there 7 years or 70!
I wish I knew.

years are used in the examples there, and further on also in the

All the dates in the book are very old. ie. if you were born in 1904...
Also it is the 'associated Newspapers Ltd.' edition. So I reckon it was printed in the 30s. I guess the clovers could have been put there any time after that, but not too recently, as the book is very musty and obviously has been on a shelf or in a box for years.

And another 2 turned up! So that makes 7 lucky 4 leaf clovers. How lucky is that?

I have put them in a little picture frame with a buzzard feather we found when we were investigating neolithic burial chambers last year. So now they are safe.
