Court/Elemental correspondences

WooMonkey

Hi folks,
I'm looking for tarot books with a kings/air, knights/fire orientation. I know that these are the correspondences that Nevill Drury makes in his "Tarot Workbook". Are there any others?

Thanks!
:)

La boheme

Waite does, and most others...

each minor arcana suit of earth (pentegram/coin), air (sword/atheme), fire (wands/clubs), water (chalice, vessle) has a king, queen, knight & page or their variation. each correspondence also decribes a direction and a color, and mental state. Here is a list of "correspondents" which I have gathered from a variety of sources. I am sure they are not all that exist (most are strictly from "Westren/European history," some might be disputed, but I feel it is a fairly accurate list). You will see these things show up on the cards. Hope this is helpful.

Untangling Thoth Courts

This sounds like Thoth :) which probably means
there's lots of them around ~ but you may need
to read them as different than they're written...

If you already understand what you want here,
you are the best person to formulate the ideas.

Courts are almost always what feels right to us.

You're right Fulgour--I was coming from a RWS orientation, but I should double check what a writer means by "knight". The kings/air, knights/fire correspondence is what feels right to me. I think I just like reading confirmation. :)

Since my original post, I've found a few other authors--Susan Levitt, Corinne Kenner, and Phyllis Vega. I'm going to go back and double check to see if they were referring to the Thoth deck.

Who's to say that isn't implicit in the RWS? :-D

He was basing it on the Golden Dawn, after all, and he lets slip in his comments on significators that Knights are older men and Kings are younger.
