Satori called and asked me to post on her behalf. She and her sisters are on their way to the casino and she and LuLu have these beautiful necklaces that Cardlady made especially for the trip. Satori said LuLu is calling it her lucky necklace and can't wait to play 7 card stud in it!

She wanted me to post that Cardlady is the best! Thank you Cardlady!!!
That is really sweet - and yes, three cheers for Cardlady who makes everyone feel special! May Lady Luck ride with Satori and Lulu! :)

My parcel from Cardlady arrived while I was away this weekend and I missed seeing it when I got home on Sunday. Oops!

Lots of lovely things:

2 very strange looking hexagonal dice, one white, one black with different symbols on the sides, that looks like a divination set in itself!

A black, diamond shaped dice with signs of the directions on it.

3 lovely little tumbled stones though I have no idea what they are yet.

A little fleur du lis badge

Two gold buttons

A gorgeous little copper coloured acorn on a blue ribbon

and 4 little beads of the card suits.

WAY too much but I feel very honoured to receive them and look forward to using them soon.

There was no letter to explain the little pieces so I will give them my own interpretations.

One thing . . . on the plastic zip-lock back that they all came in, I notice my screen name 'Milfoil' written on the outside then underneath the letters JF.

I wonder why JF was there - I am intrigued Cardlady????? :)

Thank you so much.

Seems like we ask ourselves similar questions... ;) My guess at an answer is that she used initials to connect screen names to real-life names, so that the items would go to the right person.

Looks like you got some of the same dice that I got (the symbols are astrological ones for planets and zodiac signs), as well as a sister to the mini acorn that now lives with me. :)

I believe cardlady said somewhere that she'd post or PM us the letters/stories after we had received her packages...

*giggle* Yes, Cat* has it right! I set up the little baggies and put things in. I had to go buy the mailers on the way to the PO, so I didn't want to stick them in to wrong person!

Milfoil, the card suit beads are mother-of-pearl. They can be used to assign a Season or a Life Area, based on your own preferences. Mine are
:spade: Winter, struggles, mysteries, profound Spiritual experiences
 Spring, relationships, creativity, passions
:club: Summer, learning, education, trying new things
:diamond: Autumn, assessing value, production, systems (belief or material)
I'm not sure what the 3 tumbled stones were either. They were the "most interesting" in an assortment. I was thinking of them like a trinity or the good-neutral-evil, etc.

Each of you received:
*copper acorn- Venus, seed of the Oak, potential to be/become ___
http://www.celticattic.com/olde_world/myths/oak_lore.htm
you may remove the blue ribbon if you like, that was just to keep it from getting overlooked
*astrology Planet & Sign dice set

http://www.uranian-institute.org/bfglyphs.htm
http://www.skyscript.co.uk/books.html (Deborah Houlding's site article index)
*compass die- could be used to help signify which direction of the cast to look, or any specific cultural lore you choose to associate with the 8 directions

*button pair- polar opposites of a theme
I tried to individualize the theme for each one.
*badge/button

Now, we're just waiting to hear that rhombchick's came through. I'm hoping there wasn't a snafu with the customs form (or lack thereof)

Milfoil

Ah, I see, I did wonder how you had my initials (I thought WOW, this girl is really psychic) then I remembered, I had sent you may name and address . . DUH!

:)

Thank you for all the information, thats wonderful Cardlady. :)

Where are we up to with our group? Has everyone received their parcels yet?

According to cardlady22's list here, only rhombchick is waiting for packages from cardlady22 and me. Everyone else has gotten their four packages.

I do know, however, that rhombchick has already received mine because some of the items showed up in a throw she did for me over in the reading thread. :) It seems she just forgot to post here (she also was away a few days).

What do all of you think of a separate reading exchange among the Drummer Girls? I believe it would be nice to round off the item exchange with a round of readings for each other (maybe round robin style?). I'd love to see all of our thingies in action!

That said, I'll be away next week and won't have much time before I return, so I'd only be available in the first week of May again...

I'm bumping this thread because I got some more additions to my oracle kit. They come from the ever generous Mi-Shell who had her husband deliver the packages in person to my house. So I got inter-group, inter-national items!

I'm tired, so I'll just post a short list of what I got and show you a picture instead of another one of my long, gushing write-ups. In order of unwrapping:
- a quartz crystal
- a piece of obsidian knife
- a tiny metal Wolf (probably made by Mi-Shell)
- a golden coin with stamps on both sides (definitely made by Mi-Shell)
- a pottery shard from an archaeological dig
- a piece of unidentified bone (I hope to hear more about this)
- a piece of antler(?)
- a part of a Turtle/Tortoise shell

This truly saved my day today! I'm loving all the items and look forward to doing another reading with my kit (I'm hoping for the weekend).

Speaking of which: Now that you've had a week to think about my suggestion (see my previous post) ;) - what about a Flotsam & Jetsam reading exchange between us Drummer Girls?

I'm game to try. Not sure how coherent I'll be. This week's scheduling is a lot of in-and-out.
