I can't seem to find good pics of medieval woodcuts or old manuscripts with rings in them :(

:)) not surprised! probably cuz there is not much? at least i don't remember seeing it?:))
maybe to check here http://www.britishmuseum.org/research/collection_online/search.aspx?searchText=ring&view=list
first decide position and perspecitve!^^ then see what could fit?^^
or google *ring pattern or circle instead of ring?XD :)) or just leave it for last?:)) and do what you prefer now!^^/that's what I did it!^^ in my case with people cards!XD ;))
but with your *demanding style I don't think you'll have *easy cards!XD XP lolz :)))

EDIT just to add someones collection on pintrest!^^:))

Thanks for the suggestions! Really having difficulty in depicting the clouds, so I'll be skipping that for now and will come back to it in the future. Here is another finished card. The Tree.

The Tree.

Overall, I really like this. You're asking for input, though, so I'll tell you that I think I'd make the roots deeper. To me, one aspect of the Tree can be about one's roots. Since the roots are visible in this picture, I'd emphasize them a bit more, make them longer, stronger, and deeper, maybe with a central tap root, to better evoke that symbolism.

Thanks! I based it on an image of a medieval woodcut of a tree. Will try my hand at making the roots longer after I finish having a go at all the cards. Thanks again!

Here's some other cards I've finished.

I've also made hashtags for it in FB so you could also search for updates there under #Gravenchase and GravenchaseLenormand. :)

Lol I think it's a case of two (and maybe more) people stumbling upon the same idea. :D That said, I like that deck too. :) I wonder where he got his images? It's a bit hard to find sources for inspiration for some of the cards (like the ring!).

Cool! What did you use to make the vid? Looks really great. Is this a collage deck? It's amazing you managed to find all the Lennie objects in the deck. I had to drop the Marseille aspect in mine midway because it really wasn't working out for me. I ended up focusing on getting a medieval woodcut-manuscript look, and even then it was still difficult to find images for some of the cards to be bases for my drawings. :)

I used just my Macbook for the video. The deck was about a 70/30 drawing to collage. I wanted the deck to feel like a Marseille so there were some collage in but most of it was drawn.

It looks great! :) Love what you did to the inserts too.

My Marseille ideas for this deck originally had some of the objects being held by those hands in the clouds (among other references) but that didn't work out too well, so I decided to shift focus away from the Marseille look.
