An Update on Dreaming a Movie Classic

Wildchilde - thank you so much for your dream interpretation. Together with my teacher's word for word study with me on Friday evening, there is a starting off point for another month of study and amplification on this dream alone. I am not going to comment on your interpretation just yet, I need to approach the dream again freshly and see what I can find. Gradually this will come to synthesis.

This is a dream from the morning of November 14, just before the full moon in Taurus... I recognized the movie, it was a famous sci-fi epic. I mentioned to my companions that I had seen the movie on the TV before, but had never caught the beginning. I remembered that I had seen it about half way through, when the hero was making his way across a desert without his crew. At that point I knew that there were some pretty explicit sex scenes, not pornographic but classically erotic.
Together with the half-hour of disorientation when I woke up while I wondered who and where I was, and the extreme feeling of reality at the point I became the captain in the dream, this "Had never caught the beginning" phrase led my teacher and I to the strong intuitive conclusion that the part of the dream occurring in the desert was a past life experience - which is a new thing for me. This rejection of love was something that I again played out as a teenager, although not quite in the same way. But something clicked for me when I realized that I had done the same thing in a previous incarnation, and finally it appears that the ego recognized and accepted this alien crewmember, Eirian/Natalie, the Creative Beloved. And with that acceptance I woke up this morning and found that she had achieved full co-consciousness, not just as an occasional voice but the fully parallel voice of my heart - and it is wonderful to hear with your heart! Here are more details on this Listening to My Heart. Now I'm very tired, and very happy, but I'm not sure if I'm still coherent, so I'd better go to bed. :)

I remember some time back, having a psychic flash that some of your dreams were connected to past lives David. This is going to be a wonderful (if sometimes difficult) phase for you.

I dreamed last night that I was in Japan. I was walking up the steps of a red and white temple. The temple and steps were set out in a pyramid shape. As I reached the top, I saw a raised pond structure. I looked inside, and there was a large turtle swimming in the centre surrounded by Koi Carp.

I have googled turtle and this is what I found. Note the "patience" aspect and the opening up to clairaudience and clairvoyance.

This is what I found on Carp :-

"The Japanese consider it the most spirited of fish, so full of energy and power that it can fight its way up swift-running streams and cascades. Because of its strength and determination to overcome all obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals. The carp is an appropriate symbol to encourage the overcoming of life's difficulties leading to consequent success."

Hi Autumn Star

Welcome! And thanks for sharing your dream.

Pregnancy is a powerful dream symbol of nurturing creativity preparing to be manifest. If we take the rundown apartment as an image of your own inner psychic space as you saw it at the time, the creative blossoming of your pregnancy brings new life into what seems like a deadend existence. There is a hidden strength here, and if you were a Tarot reader at the time, we could interpret the number of your projected age, 26, to add to 8 or feminine Strength in your Morgan Greer deck. That hidden strength lies in you, as you discover in the mirror, revealed in the nun, a virginal guide. Like the High Priestess, she reflects your own intuitive wisdom, always abiding with you.

I try to take an open mind as to whether these guides are inner or outer, because in a sense they are always both - just as the inner and outer worlds are really one and the same. As above, so below.

Deep Blessings - David

Hi David, thankyou very much for your comments :) You have an incredible gift for dream interpretation.

There are so many things in this dream that I had never looked at in this way. Just the other day - I was thinking to myself, I am much more like the High Priestess than the Empress ... in fact my challenges number is 3 ... and this is my year number too. So, in this dream, I see the juxtaposition between the HP and Empress ... I have always wondered if I was a nun in a past life too. As for being an inner guide - I had never thought about it like that, and it makes so much sense.

Thankyou very much for your help - I could relate to everything that you have written :)

Hi Sue

What a wonderful dream, I am glad you had something more positive because I know you've been going through a lot of challenging dreams lately. It seems that the dream director knows we need a reward sometimes! This seems like a journey up into heaven, and I from the link you gave I also noticed: "The turtle was an animal whose magic could help you unite heaven and earth within your own life". I get a sense that this is dream is connected with the crown chakra.

How did you feel in the dream? Do you happen to know how many steps the pyramid had?

Rich Blessings - David

Thank you for the encouragement Autumn Star. I've had quite a bit of practice and a truly wonderful teacher! I'm glad to be of help, but really my interpretation is only a start. This is a dream you have remembered for some time and is clearly of great significance. There are several techniques you could use if you wish to go deeper. For example, try free association, stream of consciousness writing or dialoguing with the various elements of the dream, not only the nun, the dream ego (the "I" in the dream), and the unborn child, but the scenery too, the mirror, the bed, your hair. They are all there for a reason and carry symbolic meaning. Try to remember your emotions at different parts of the dream. You could also do a Tarot spread on the dream. Perhaps draw a picture of the scene, but particularly of the nun. What background music would you set the dream to? Dream amplification can be almost endless, and of course you have to weigh how much time you are able to put into it. But the more you try to connect with your own dreams the more they will be able to communicate with you - in future dreaming also.

The Mystery of X

As I mentioned in the Spirit Guide Group Encounters thread today, yesterday evening, with a little flutter of the physical heart, Natalie dropped out of co-consciousness. However, even that one day with her has been life changing, and I am thankful for that time I had with her, rather than regretful that it is past.

Last night's dream was a bit vague, but what I do remember was that I was a young Clark Kent Superman figure, probably about 12 years old. My father was also a Superman character, and we had gone to a summer camp on holidays. As is typical with your average superhero, he never seems to get a day off. So while Dad was out chasing the bad guys, he suggested I hide out in a cabin for a bit with the door locked. I was quite happy to spend a bit of time reading, but I'm not sure what it was. But what seemed to be key in the dream was that if I got into any kind of trouble - particularly with the bad guys, I just had to concentrate on the letter X - actually spell it out in Morse code - and Dad would come running (flying?). I remember that in the dream I felt I had discovered a great secret from our home world, a superpower in itself, conveyed in this letter X. The dream ended.

It is not surprising that with this recent and unprecedented degree of integration with the Creative Beloved - following months of working through negative mother issues in one way or another - that there would be an encounter with a positive father figure. Just as in the Fool's Journey, one card is the gateway to the next. Having started with Magician and High Priestess and year and a half ago, then worked on integration with the Empress for perhaps a year now, it appears I am ready to revisit the Emperor/Father principle. It is unusual indeed for me to have a positive father dream.

The Superman theme is not new to me, but it is a rather primitive and underdeveloped symbol of masculine energy - dreams of the Lord of the Rings Aragorn and then of the Wild White Stallion being higher octaves of this. I presume I am returning to the Superman theme to gather up something I have missed. The key to this dream, which it highlighted for me, was the letter X.

First of all, X in Morse code is Dash-Dot-Dot-Dash - symmetrical like the letter X, rather like a little fort with the two Dots within it guarded by substantial walls of Dashes. A stable symbol in four parts, like the letter X itself which traces the corners of a square. Thus the symbol and numerology of the Emperor is clearly expressed.

X also represents the unknown or mysterious, perhaps even the transcendent - as in the X-ray and the X-files. Perhaps a bit like the astrological Neptune, it reflects the unknown. Again, this may be a reference to my natal Neptune in Scorpio, which is trine my Venus, so that through creative expression I draw on the symbols of the collective unconscious, intuitive wisdom, and things which are the opposite of what they appear.

I also note that even though I related the X to the Emperor, there is no denying that it also represents the female X chromosome. And at that point I am going to leave this dream an open question for now...

Symetry has featured a lot in my life lately. I was talking to a psychic artist about it on Saturday - strange that it occured in your dream David..

I can't recall how many steps in the dream - too numerous to count. It was a large pyramid structure, and when the dream began, I appeared to be more than half-way up the pyramid with only a few steps left to the top.

I dreamed last night that I was at a wedding. It was my brother's wedding (he's not married to his partner but they have been together for years). There was another wedding that I was supposed to attend on the same day, and I was in a quandry as to what to do, but decided I would have to go to my brother's wedding.

I saw the date circled in a diary - December 19th.

I don't think he will get married - he's had two cracks at marriage already! LOL. So I wonder if this means there will be a dilemma and a celebration around this time? Or maybe it related to my own "union"? Hope so.

I wonder if you have a significant planetary transits aspecting your natal chart for that day, that might be a clue. Looking at the general transits in my Llewellyn astro calendar, nothing seems particularly striking. Nineteen does represent the Sun in Tarot of course, and that may also figure in this reference. Together with the two marriages on that same day in your dream, this could be an exciting period coming for you, in which a decision will need to be made.

is this thread just about dreams or can it include visions ? ie waking dreams?
