I just wanted to share this spread I've been experimenting with. It owes its origins to a problem solving methodology I did on a course (you can even dance it which is fun).
Lay out the cards like this:
3rd Card (Outcome) 4th Card (Effects)
5th Card (Resources) <----this card is meant to be at the centre and I can't make the post do that
2nd card (Cause) 1st card (Symptoms)
Symptoms: What I am experiencing as a result of this problem
Cause: The root cause of this problem
Outcome: What I want to happen instead of the problem
Effects: The effects of having had the outcome for a number of years (e.g. 5)
Resources: What I need to get my outcome
As well as laying it out 'blind', I have also experimented with selecting certain cards consciously e.g. select the outcome and effects cards for yourself and lay the rest out. I have also used more than one card in the Resources position e.g. 'what I think I need' 'what I actually need'.
I would be interested to see how this spread works for other people: I have found it very useful.
