Spirit of the Wheel - card 4 - Grandmother Moon

GryffinSong

A large owl looks outward from the card. Underneath her, seemingly sheltered by her, is someone riding a horse. She looks like a young woman to me, wrapped ina blaket. There are dramatic, chimney-like peaks in the background, as well as a plateau. In the sky is a patterned circle with a snowy owl head in the center. This is, presumably, the moon, and the moonlight is bright enough to cast a shadow of the horse and rider. There is a dark wing in the lower left corner, as if another owl has just flown out of the scene. There are stars in the sky. The card has the words "self reflection, inner rhythms, intuition".

I see dreaming, imagery, inner knowledge and contemplation. I see a woman deep in thought, feeling safe in the night, protected by the owl, and trusting her horse to carry her wherever she's going. I see wisdom gained from looking within, one's deepest knowing.
