Process, Prologue

Seafra, Welcome!

Padawan... I am humbly corrected. And you're quite right. I couldn't find the word, I started with Pilgrim, and that sounded, well, too pilgrimish, then when I saw "Jedi" in the brain loop, I admit it, I jumped.

You'll love all the rose stuff in the cd: in fact, you might be really valuable here as a rose lore specialist.

Welcome, Grizabella!

Humility is a huge part of the lesson he hopes to teach the student and nothing is more humbling than getting down on one's knees in the dirt and mud, especially in winter. If you're not humble enough to get down in the dirt and muck and actually touch it, then you might as well forget reading for others, because you're going to have to get humble enough to get down on your knees with them in their "muck" and work with them through it.

Mmmm Hmm. Good to see that whizzing racing brainpan of yours here: I'd been hoping you might join in.

I also think you've hit on the core message of the prologue.
No humility, no entrance. Ding ding ding!!!!
What do you think, Baroli?

(Disclaimer: I haven't listened to anything but the sample chapter, just going from what others have written here.)

Gardening (and what little I know about it) also reminds me of the importance of being properly grounded, energetically and in so-called real life, of being down-to-earth. Reading tarot to me means being able to make connections between the cards and everyday life. It also means that not everything out there will come in pretty soft colors, smell nice, and feel good. Sometimes, it gets ugly and dirty.

I also think of long-term effects - you can't predict how the weather will be in a year, especially not in detail, but how you treat your plants and what you feed them now will have an effect (for good or for bad) on how they will react to whatever weather comes their way later.

The way I see it, both of this applies to our own learning process as well as to the readings we do for others.

The red rose is a symbol connected to Rosicrucians as well....

Being a Star Wars fan I would have never thought of that. becoming a Padawan. Even though I do not have the CDs I am picking up a little bit from the forum.

I have often considered that Dan might well be the Obi-wan of Tarot, ..... He teaches like one:D I was a willing Padawan learner the minute the pencils fell from the envelope :D

ETA: Hmmm, pencils?? No other DL [Distance Learning] course on Tarot included pencils.....THIS is gonna be something different....

For those of us who aren't Star Wars fans, maybe you could translate?

Absolutely! However, I do think we need to get back to the deal of the prologue. Dan isn't a sensai or or a jedi master, he's just a guy, who is a damn good teacher. Yeah, let's bring on the pencils, I'm game.

Check your ego at the door y'all, this is gonna be fun!
