Past life?? How?? What?!

Queeny

How do you know or find out who you were in your past life? can other people find out for you?

I would also like to know, who were you in your past life? and can you see any characteristics in yourself now which were also a part of your past life?

The two things that I have seen suggested are a past life regression via hypnosis, and meditation to bring on lucid dreaming.

That said, I haven't had much success with the latter, and haven't tried the former. I'm always interested in other peoples' stories, but skeptical, too.

Queeny

Well i can lucid dream to some extent but can't understand how this would show you who you were in your past life.
I am also very skeptical but yet interested!

Hypnosis is the most well recognised way but the shamanic journey can also be used to discover past lives too.

Some people advocate looking at recurring themes in your life, odd desires and fears which seem to stem from no cause within your lifetime, that sort of thing. This does give some ideas about general themes but not details.

Lucid dreaming to uncover past lives would have to also encompass dream control too. So that not only do you know you are in a dream and dreaming, but you can control the dream so as to create a door, for example, behind which is one of your past lives, that sort of thing.

I do past life readings for clients both with the Tarot and by shamanic journeying, so yes, other people can find this out for you. Many times when I mention a certain trait, like, or dislike that I'm seeing in the past life, my client confirms that they have this trait in this life as well. Via what is called "curse unraveling" I can also journey back to a past life where a negative thoughtform was initiated, and transform the energy, so that it ceases to have a negative effect in the person's present life.

Some past lives of mine that I know about were:
- A courtier in the court of King Henry VIII. I have carried a fascination for that period through to this life. In fact, I used to be rather puzzled that the only part of King Henry's reign that truly interested me was the time between when he married Catherine of Aragon and her death, until I found that I had been in her employ.
- A woman married to a lawyer in Victorian England. I've always been fascinated with this time in history.
- A "wise woman" and herbalist who was betrayed by her brother and subsequently executed as a witch. I think this was in New England.
- A Native American man. Every time I check back into this life, it has to do with either being hungry, or feasting, and I do have some food issues in this life. In fact, my mom always said she never understood why, from the time I was a small child, I always seemed to be worried that there wouldn't be enough food, as that was never a concern for us as a family.
- A cloistered nun. I don't know much about this life, but I am currently good friends with a man who knew me in that life. While in this life we are just friends, at some point while we were talking about past lives, we realized that we were both well aware that we had done something quite naughty together in that life.
- A Japanese herbalist. This was a long, long time ago.

There are quite a few more that I'm aware of. I can relate to most of them with some interest, fear, or aptitude I have in this lifetime.

Wow how amazing and interesting. I liked the cloistered nun story, made me smile :)

I would love to try this out sometime, how have you used tarot to see this?

I have had a shaman as well as some psychics uncover some of my past lives too. In previous lives, I have been:

a monk who helped to transcribe copies of the bible. (this may be why I took up calligraphy as a young teen, and became quite good with it. my handwriting and printing have also been considered 'exceptionally neat' by people--which I always attributed to the Catholic education I received--but now wonder if it is a carry over from my 'monk days'. :p

a Scottish senior shipmate, whose name oddly enough corresponds to a name that is in my husbands ancestry in the same time period/same area. the other 'unusual' thing about this, is that another psychic mentioned to me that my husband and I have been together before in a previous life. not sure if it was this one, but I often wonder?

a young woman folk singer from the late 1940s to 1950's era. this life has come up for me a couple of times, though in todays life, I cannot sing well at all! LOL! also, it would mean I reincarnated very quickly, because I was born into this life in 1960! :bugeyed:

an English girl/woman, whose mother dies young, and she begins to rebel somewhat in her relationship with her father. she begins a relationship with a young man who is a farmer and quite below the status of this girl. however, when push comes to shove with her wealthy father, she choses love and the hard life of a farmers wife. later, regretting her decision.

I cannot at the moment think of any other previous lives, but perhaps there are more. I feel very special to have found out about these--and at least with the Scottish guy, I even have a name, and town and country! :)

so, yes, in answer to your question--others can find this out for you, in ways already uncovered here in previous posts. psychics, hypnotists and shamans are some of the ways to find out, and well worth the search!

This is my method: I start by asking the querent for something to "fasten" the reading to--a fascination with a particular time period, place, or person (historic, or someone they know), a talent, personality trait, or phobia, etc. Then I just throw some cards and let the cards start telling me about that lifetime. Generally, at some point after I begin, maybe after looking at 5-10 cards, I don't need to use them any more--it's like the story just starts spinning out of its own accord, and I can mentally see and hear what is going on, like a motion picture in my head.

I have to add here that I'm clairvoyant and clairaudient. I've done a lot of psychic development work over the past 20 years, and I read Tarot intuitively. If a person reads strictly by learned meanings, and has not developed their psychic abilities, I can't say how well it would work. I have also noticed that my ability to do this has improved greatly since taking shamanic training and doing numerous journeys to my own and other people's past lives.

There are stones that are helpful to get attuned to past lives. I use Infinite Stone, a variety of Serpentine.

As Millie Says there are many varying ways to find out..
I firmly believe in past lives. It for me is the natural progression of life, death and rebirth..

I also have in my own head that once a human always a Human. Dont ask why? LOL!! I still havent figured out why i think this. I just do!

I have recalled many of my own lives.. and the most recent is the most prolific and has the most bearing on this lifetime..

It was France late 1800's within the Montmarte area, Bohemian revolutionary era. Anything from that era has my attention, colours, storys, movements. Art, Music, Dress style.. just everything!
I was a Cortisan, who died late 20's.

How do i know? I just do in way! I Just knew too much about the era, like a recall of the lifetime, Flashes of a memory, not belonging to this lifetime..of the places i have been.. and drawn SO strongly to anything about that time..Dreamt of it, attracted naturally to anything of the era even as a little girl..and of course Moulin Rouge Is a huge draw card.. and the movie being a favourite.
I have never been out of the country i was born in this lifetime.. and cant wait to travel to France and find out if i can lead myself around without a map.. It will be extremely interesting to see how strong this connection goes.

all the other lifetimes still have a place in this lifetime, but they are not as strong.

edited to say I also do past life readings.. which can take weeks.. I use the Voyager as i feel this deck is appropriate, for me. I have cut off all key words and borders and just use the images. Sometimes in one 5 card spread i see two lifetimes other time i see only one.. I feel as a Past life reader all I am really doing is jogging your own memory. it is up to you to fill in the gaps. to connect the dots so to speak.. I have done many, But i havent done any recently as I only do them when they are meant.
I tune into the cards.. I tune into the residual energy of the past life..I allow it to speak to me and i jot down notes until i have the lifetime sewn together. I then pass the information along and allow the client to with what they feel they are meant.

To do this for myself I have only done once with the cards... and Have used a 5 card spread made up by myself.. and It was quite accurate ( IMHO) LOL!and i was able to connect the dots.. which led me to my Guide who helps me out with Medium work.
which was quite cool, It showed our relationship and why he is with me this lifetime.etc..
I think I have posted the Spread in spread section.. If you cant find it and want it.. pm me.. it is only 5 cards.. but so much can be got from those 5 cards. for weeks i still receive info from it.. I place a note book next to the spread until i feel I am finished.

Good Luck and have fun on your journey discovering.

I found out about my past lives in several different ways. One past life came to me as a child in dreams. I would constantly dream that my mother and I were men and we were in a dungeon, chained to the wall of a dank, cold cave and we were starving. I later realized that as young as I was when I had these dreams, this must have been a past life recollection.

Then, several years ago I went to a hypnosis who specialized in past life regressions. The interesting thing about this is that I got interested by reading Brian Weiss' book, Many Lives, Many Masters, and when I put the book down I immediately did a google search for someone who could do this in my area. Turned out there was a woman who lives 15 blocks from my home!

Anyway, I went to her and I think we regressed to 4 lives but without dragging the tape out to listen to it, I can only remember 3 right now:

1 - I was a laborer - a specialist in lettering in stone - in Egypt (a man). I had a wife and a child but I had to leave them a lot to do the work I did; it was only available in some areas and there was no hopping on a plane in those days.

2 - I was a young serving girl for a wealthy family. I had a boyfriend who, when he found out I was pregnant, strangled me. Before I learned of this past life I was never able to wear necklaces or tight collars. Later, after this came to the surface in the past-life regression, I was fine. An even more interesting note was that the past-life boyfriend is a current-life sister. (Not one I am close to.) I've not told her this, though she's very into the world of the metaphysical; just don't want to go there.

3 - My favorite life was in the late 1800's out in Wyoming. I could see myself first as a young orphan (always the loner thing with me, luckily, not in this life) and then I grew up working for a wealthy rancher who put me through school and I learned to be a doctor. I went around the country-side healing people - and even some animals - as best I could with the tools I had.

One detail of that life found me as an elderly man standing on a stage announcing the candidate for the governor of the territory, who happened to be my best friend. I came over with the name of "John" in the regression. Gave me goosebumps to google the governors of Wyoming (a place I've never been) and see that the first governor was John Campbell. That tidbit could have been lurking in my subconscious, but when would I ever have studied Wyoming state history? I grew up in Missouri.

It's cool stuff - by all means, if you are interested, check it out!
