If you like Numerology...

This year we will experience
1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11 & 11/11/11

Now figure this out...
take the last two digits from the year YOU were BORN

PLUS

the AGE you will be THIS YEAR

and it will equal 111

Now...
how CrAzY is that???

Does this work for everyone?
Got it in an email and it worked for me!
Does anyone know how this works?

I did it on my mom too... It worked O_O

Thats pretty cool :D
Funny how numbers work...

Yep, worked for me and for my daughter, too! Neat!

Well, the strangest thing to me is that someone was telling me about that in Glastonbury today. The funniest thing is how you can't stop yourself trying to find one that it doesn't work for.

I'm sure there must be a rational mathematical explanation, and that someone will be along to tell us all about it soon!

My son doesn't work. None of the new cousins born after 2000. All members of my family born before 2000 are working. Hubby told me this and I started working out the Magic Number for years coming before:

2011 = 111
2010 = 110
2009 = 109
2008 = 108
2007 = 107
2006 = 106
2005 = 105
2004 = 104
2003 = 103
2002 = 102
2001 = 101
2000 = 100
1999 = 99
1998 = 98
1997 = 97

Wait a a minute, cardlady. I'm not seeing where you are getting those tallies.

If someone was born in 2002, he will be 9 years old on his birthday in 2011. 02 + 9 = 11, not 102. True, the number isn't 111, but it does end with 11, as do all the examples you gave from 2000 on, I think. [2004 birth...04 + 7 years old on birthday in 2011 comes out to be 11, as well, etc. The birthdays before 2000 work out to the 111 figure, though. 1997 birth...14 years old on birthday in 2011 comes out to 97 + 14 = 111.]

The cut-off between the total being 11 or being 111 seems to be the year 2000.

But I'm very bad in math, so maybe I'm off or I'm not seeing this correctly.

I'm not sure. Maybe my math went weird. I used me, hubby, kids, grandmother & great grandmother. (all but 1 child were born in 19__)

Let's see . . .

70 (year) + 38 (age) = 108 (for 2008)

00 (year) + 8 (age) = 8 (for 2008)

Still not sure how someone would explain it mathematically, but I wouldn't put much stock in the 1 and 11 combos since the century has a 2(0) in it.

I didn't use anyone born in 2000 or after.

starrystarrynight

70 (year) + 38 (age) = 108 (for 2008)
Oh, I think you have to use the age the person will be this year (2011),
so:

1970 would be 70 + 41 = 111

2000 would be 00 + 11 = 11

So, you're right that birthdays from 2000 on will only get you an 11 instead of a 111.

Unless I'm doing something wrong here, too. :) <shrug>

You have the "method" correct. I just wanted to see what other years would work out to if we used the same method- to see if each year had it's own "magic number"
