Shadowscapes Study - The World XXI

Peregrin

From the Shadowscapes Companion book:

"The pulse of the world ripples in an affirmation of all the life that it holds and all the death that passes.... all tremble in unison with that single heartbeat, brought together by a mighty conductor."

Meaning: "Satisfaction and peace of mind. A successful conclusion, and the end is in sight. Achieving balance, melding and blending to bring together in unison the multiples songs of life."

The earth goddess uses a seeing-globe to tend her realm. A green gemstone on her third eye is pressed against the glass, and she seems very focused on her work.

There are many circles in this picture: the goddess's globe, the full planet in the night sky, and the circular cutout of the foliage, revealing the night sky.

These full circles remind of the theme of completion. We have come "full circle" through the major arcana. Everything has reached a satisfactory conclusion.

There is so much green in this card! The Shadowscapes deck draws much inspiration from nature, but lush green foliage rarely appears. It seems both appropriate and welcoming in this final card.

The goddess's hair, long and voluminous, and the flowing fabric of her dress both fit well with the imagery of abundance and lush growth.

Against the predominant green, we have red and gold accents. She wears red ribbons and cords, and a gold belt and crown. Gold-and-red songbirds fly past, and even the stars in the sky cooperate with the green, red, and gold palette. Any thoughts on the meaning of these three colors?
