New at Trionfi.com

Thanks very much Huck. I had it in photocopy but volume of plates was missing - also Merlin's original article from 1859, which included some plates but not so many.

Some appear defective in this new volume - the S Series "Prima Causa" is missing two of the Evangelical animals, for instance.

A rather unknown early type of hermit from a Tarot of the Besancon variant produced in ca. 1760 by the German card producer Göbl.

This and other cards are at display at

News of the day:

"Tarot" becomes a horror film, but Dennis Trillo had a good reading.

http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/21637...nd-future-revealed-through-tarot-card-reading

They even had tarot cards made specifically for the film.

"As to whether “Tarot” could have a negative effect on fortune tellers or tarot card readers, Jun Lana pointed out, “That won’t happen because we did our research well. I don’t like people saying negative things about tarot cards because of our film. We actually hired a consultant who’s always on the set.

He guided us especially when it comes to reading tarot cards. Also, the story is really the story of this one character and her experience with tarot cards so it doesn’t apply to the tarot card readers.” "

... .-) ... always nice, if one can say, "we did our research well".

Here is a trailer, not too impressive:

On a market for used things I found a remake (1998) of an old Tarot deck from ca. 1790, together with a book of not much worth in German language. I paid 4 Euro for both. Researching the web for it, I found that it is variously offered for not much money, especially German amazon.
Peter Ortmann is the author of the book, the deck is called "das lombardische Tarot", but actually it's a sort of Tarot de Marseille deck made in Trieste, Fabrica di Angelo Valla, similar to

these decks. The original is in Deutsches Spielkartenmuseum.

Thanks for those links Huck,

Although the cards of the unknown deck (at the second link) are more clearly coloured, I do prefer the faces in the deck at the first link "David Berti" (Bologna, Italy) deck "Tarot of Marseilles". They're are much nicer, being finely drawn with pleasing expressions.

Which of these two decks at Trionfi most closely resembles the deck that you bought? (Hoping it's the deck at the first link).
