Esoterism vs Esotericism

Ramses

Hello folks...

How are you?...I hope you´re all fine!!!

But, wow....has it been so long since the last time I visited Aeclectic????

Where is the Spirituality forum????...hehe...I´m kinda lost here now...

Well, my question is the following...I was translating a few things for my job when I saw the word "Esotericism"...then, I decided to look it up on the internet, and also found "Esoterism"...

Is there, by any chance, any kind of difference between the two words???....Any kind of difference in meaning, tradition, or anything like that???

Thanks for your attention.

(I really missed you all !!!)

wonderful to see you back ramses! :)

the spirituality forum has moved to the subscriber section. i will leave this thread here for 24 hours, then i will have to move it.

in the meantime, i think i may have your answer. esoterism differs from esotericism in that esoterism refers to a unity of (or comparison of) all religions whereas esotericism comes from one specific system.

Ramses!!!! I've missed you!!! So glad you are back.

But alas, I have no answer for you. I would tend to read them the same an assign the same definition in my mind when I do so. It's probably one of those weird English spelling things, like center vs centre.
