yes, most likely I won't even be handling the crabs! lol. they 'stink' to me--and the smell has the tendency to stay on you. at least, I think it does. yuck!

my mother would probably tell me to take extra underwear- rather then reminding me about socks/proper shoes. However, I do have a 'lift' that goes from shoe to shoe and the hubby will remind me to make sure I have that! It literally fits inside my shoe--so I can remove it and use it in multiple shoes. So, this does make sense too--though I'm not sure if Instanbul has a 'wet' season--and perhaps I should check to see if August is traditionally wet there? Maybe it is a sign to pack shoes that can get wet and still keep the feet dry?

thank you Starri for the dream!
I had more of a "you packed for some place dry, then ended up in some place wet" kind of vibe.. Is it possible that Maryland will happen immediately following Istanbul with no time to go home between??

*sigh* well...anything is possible, I guess. time will tell. it won't be the first time I had to double pack for 2 trips back to back.

had a dream for you CN! quite a strange dream and I am sure it was for you and not me.

I dreamt of a love triangle (interestingly seemed to be a choice). I had a boyfriend and also a best friend who was male. Both with dark hair. In a garden centre (I don't know what you call them in America, place that sells things for the garden and plants, like a nursery type place). All the scenes discussing all 3 of us were in a glass house with glass roof with plants and plants in rows for sale. Most of the plants didn't stand out, it was just "green" but I did notice tall plants with corn on the cobs hanging off them. When we were having a big argument about the 'triangle' I noticed an old bath tub on one of side of the area (used in the place, no longer a connected bath) with dirty water and corn on the cobs floating in the murky water.

I found out my boyfriend was sleeping with the best friend. both guys looked similar (maybe both choices for you seem hard?) I was very upset to find this out and there was raised voices in that garden centre. but no fighting or loud shouting really. I felt a temptation to go with the best friend and it would be a literal triangle but I would not cheat (reflects me in real life as well). I felt the 3 of us were best friends and it had just gone too far!

I was disgusted to find out they were cheating together and felt really sick. I actually work up feeling really sick at that point! I have felt unwell all weekend and all my family have the flu, so might be having that. But I felt disgust as an emotion and then woke up feeling unwell and that was the end of the dream.

I don't have a boyf currently and it does not reflect real life for me. I have never been in that situation. I think the triangle element reflects your choice but I can't work out it's significance. I guess the outcome of my dream in the end is that I didn't choose either of them, I decided to end things with both as the end of the dream before I woke up. I could have had both though (as a temptation).

I looked up some of the meanings online as symbols. Love triangles are very much insecurity in a relationship but I am not in a relationship. also your question is not about your marriage or relationships. I think it's nothing to do with a literal meaning. the interpretations that do interest me however are about it could be "attention and time divided", "strong emotional conflict". it's pretty much a dream about betrayal though.

The corn is such an interesting related symbol. it signifies "abundance, prosperity, growth and fertility". can also be domestic bliss and harmony which is interesting when the love triangle happened I saw cobs of corn in nasty water in an old bath!

The garden centre place was a glass house, that could be like the old saying about "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones", becareful what people are telling you. I am not sure that symbolism is right if that is why I saw it in there! It did feel like a garden centre place I have been to in the last 2 weeks! a known location for me! but it wasn't important, just a "generalised place".

I have no idea how this relates to your question though! but sharing it

we do call them garden centers here, or nursery's. I've never been in this situation either, TG. (how horrible!) however, it could be indicating myself, the hub and my sister as the 3 people. Also I have yet to tell my sister that I will be going to Instanbul. I may just have to tell her though-and soon, because we are visiting them in another months time and I don't want her to find out about this trip then--I want to tell her myself. At any rate, I keep waiting to see when the medical conference will be scheduled that she and I want to go to. Its not like I'm trying to keep anything from her--just that I wanted to wait till we had a firm date. But, I wonder if this dream is telling me I should tell her now any way because it's like I'm 'cheating' her?

interesting. the 'insecurity' could be with me here re:these two conferences. The Instanbull trip was not very interesting to me at first. Tbh, I am on a fence about it. But all our friends/co-workers of hub who have been there assure me I will LOVE it! They get me excited about going and one of my best friends also tells me that it is a fantastic place to go for vacation--her sister and her son & their families go often. *shrugs* I would and do like to go with the hubby when I can. But, in all honesty, I am a bit insecure about this trip.

then, with the medical conference--that one I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to attend. It will be very good for me to go--and learn so much about this particular medical issue that I have. It gives me a chance to meet other people w/the same problem and to speak to medical professionals familiar with this condition (which is very rare) and get advice for my future well being. I was quite shocked that my sister asked to go along. We use to be close as children, but then grew apart and well, I'm also hoping that this trip just might put us both back together closely again. I'm not very close to anyone in my family anymore really, and it bothers me. So, a little bit of insecurity about that too. However, I would go to this conference even IF no one else was going anyway. So your

is very apt here over all. but not really the betrayal part.

I don't really get the corn cobs in nasty water stuff myself, however, where I am from in MD also grows a lot of corn. Anyway, the significance of it is a nice thought and perhaps this is what it is indicating. Perhaps the nasty water in an old bath is indicating what WAS before (my not being so close to family in past) and that it is about to change?

the glass house thingy, yes. I did know it could indicate being careful what people are saying. I think this is all about the medical conference. Its really very shabbily handled IMHO. There are people from all over the world that attend/want to attend and the one woman who is on the board/committee is telling everyone to go ahead and book their plane tickets now anyway for this one specific date because she is sure it will be held that date. I don't know how others feel, but if I had to book a plane ticket to fly to Maryland (luckily I do not!), I would want to wait and be 100% sure the WHERE & WHEN was established already! I find that to be so totally irresponsible of them! Makes me want to join in on the committee as a board member just to protect the interests of the people who WOULD be interested in going to these meetings!

though. here I go, criticizing and I shouldn't be throwing stones!

thank you for a very interesting, symbolic dream, Daniel. I'll have to think more on this too.

Okay CN, I'm here on the fly trying to type this up before I forget! I don't even remember what your question was... something about going to conferences that are on the same day.

In the dream my husband drew a bath for me. My husband was in the room talking to me about Angry Bird stuff we were planning to sell. I didn't want to sell it because it was stuff our kids liked, and it was still fairly new to us. My dad kept walking in because he was wanting to get a shower himself. I kept covering up and telling him I wasn't done and he would leave. He did this two times I think. But then other people were showing up, and I was getting irritated that my water was getting cold and I hadn't even washed myself. I was blaming my husband for running fairly cold water into the tub in the first place as well. It was like the warmth of the water didn't last very long, and with all the distractions of people walking in, it got cold in no time. At some point, John Francis Daley (an actor that plays a psychiatrist on my favorite show Bones) was in the tub with me, along with one of my friends and my daughter, while my husband was still talking to me. John was closest to the faucet and I reached over to drain some of the cold water, and turned the hot water back on. Somehow, we all fit okay in this tub. LOL As I was running more hot water into the tub, I told my daughter, in a way that I normally do to give her a warning, "You've got 5 minutes, and then everyone is getting out so I can get my bath." And then I ran the hot water for about that long, and I felt like everyone was going to listen to me and respect my space and let me get a bath. But I didn't see that part, it switched over.

The next part of the dream I noticed that my immediate surroundings were outdoors, with ice and snow. I saw a woman driving a weird car -- it was a car, but there were seats stacked about three tiers high with people in them, and it looked like some form of sport or entertainment for people to basically 'hop' around in this car on the ice. The point seemed to be to gently crash into things and get a little wild and reckless to use the weather to its advantages, I guess. LOL In the dream, I remember others talking around me about this woman that I saw being kind of famous for giving these kinds of rides and I thought I might like to try it out. But my friend, the one that had gotten into my bathtub with me, said we needed to go fishing first. I remember that she, John, and me all got into this cold water and swam around the surface super fast... my friend herself looked like a little speed boat just underneath the surface, and my consciousness was above her and out of the water, just kind of following along with her and admiring her adeptness at swimming in these conditions. When we got out of the water, we and everyone else who had went 'fishing' in the water first had tiny little crabs covering our backsides. No one seemed to care, it seemed like this was 'normal' and they were helping each other pull them off. I remember looking at John, and the way he was looking at me I could tell that he had feelings for me, and I also knew that he wouldn't do anything about them because he knew that I was married. I guess at that point, it just seemed obvious to me that he was sticking a little too close to me, which is how I knew of his feelings. I went in search of my daughter, and she was with my mother now in this dream, and my mother was helping her pull off her crabs. I got a close up view to these crabs and they all had 3-digit numbers beneath them -- for informational or educational purposes I guess. LOL It seems kind of high-tech to me now, that those crabs being labeled with numbers after coming right out of the water seems a bit futuristic. It felt like, 'This is what you caught, here are the numbers to look up more information.' LOL It was so weird... pretty much everyone that had gone for a dip in this water had huge clusters of tiny crabs on their backs and only their backs. Peoples backs looked all red and brown. It was a chore, trying to get each and everyone of these little crabs off, and I remember finally getting creeped out and flicking one off that had come around towards the front of my neck. At that point, John spoke up and said something about vibration. He said that vibrations would kill the crabs brains, and they would all just fall off. He demonstrated with one of them and I remember the crab he used making like some kind of small creature whimper; like in a 1 (whimper) - 2 (whimper) 3 (dead/shut down/falling off) systematic kind of way.

And that was it... I have no idea if you're going to be able to make something of that. It seemed like people were getting in my space in the first part of it, and then the crabs seemed bad, but 'normal' in the second part of it -- and then John the psychiatrist demonstrates a seemingly humane way of getting these creepy creatures to drop away from the body through vibration. I don't know why it was called fishing, but that's what we did in the water and having those crabs attach themselves to our backs. There were no poles, bait or fish actually involved. LOL

I'll be interested to see what you think CN!

Wow.

I just read through the others, and had no idea that crabs and bathtubs were mentioned already. Wow!

And Daniel's mention of 'throwing stones' -- well that's kind of what Angry Birds is all about... it's a game where you launch these birds into structures to try to knock down the green pigs!

Wow!

yep! that's right.

well, I had to look up some of this stuff to try and gain some insight. The bathtub can be about self-renewal & escapeing every day problems, trying to be rid of the burdens I've been carrying and wanting to relax and find pleasure. This is true with both conferences.

To dream of taking a bath indicates cleansing the outer & inner self--washing away difficult times and getting rid of the negative feelings. This is all true---mostly with the medical conference.

Dreaming of being cold symbolizes a breakthrough in some area in my life. Now, with the medical conference, it will definitely be a breakthrough for me-as I am hoping to not only learn more about this medical condition but to hopefully be pointed in the right direction as to what TYPES of specialists to see and where some are in the U.S. (East Coast) that are trained in the condition I have.

I only just recently (as a side note here) found out that the numbness in my right arm was actually able to be treated! and, so, I was--for a mere 14 days of taking medication - and the numbness is GONE! it has come back a few times--but not anywhere near what I had experienced in the last 12-15 years EVERY DAY OF THESE YEARS, and all the hassles with other very expensive treatment and meds thrown at me that did NOT help and then being brushed aside too.

I have been to NUMEROUS doctors, specialists, and you name it and found NO relief in the last 12-15yrs. or more. In and out of physical therapy, braces, and talks of numerous types of surgery (which I avoided)--massage, and so on... Then along comes my new doctor, (I've seen her only about 4x) and she knew exactly what to do - and it only took 14 days! It really bugs me that all those other specialists and doctors and everyone in 3 different states pretty much wrote me off and told me to 'just deal with the pain' after trying so many things (expensive things too, some our insurance wouldn't cover). I am hoping this conference can continue to enlighten me with other ideas/doctors, etc. So, this is very apt, I think.

I do know John Francis Daley, as I sometimes watch Bones too. And, somehow, telling your daughter, "you've got 5 min!" is good for me too--because I am ALWAYS telling my daughter that a mom trying to shower or bathe NEVER has any privacy until ALL the kids are grown and out of the house--and the hubby is at work (if mom doesn't work - like me). she is currently a mom of 2 and a dog--and every time she goes into the bathroom for a bath/shower, the whole family--INCLUDING the dog follow. We were just talking about this a few days ago. funny you dreamed this and that line!

so, the woman was driving in a sort of ice rink then? I looked up 'rink' and it indicates that this could be that I am feeling like I'm going around in circles (which I do! medically!) and that I also have some control over any cold/bitter feelings. which--I think I also do in this case.

Then, to dream about going fishing is indicating that I am confronting my emotions and bring them to the surface. It can also indicate my need for leisure and relaxation. so again, this fits well with both conferences, again. As for the swimming, to dream about swimming can mean that I am looking for support, (which fits).

sounds like 'sand crabs'. they will pinch and they CAN hurt! but not that big a deal really.
however, crabs can also indicate I'm being a bit of a crab. uh-oh! it can also show my perserverance and tenacity on this subject, (which I do relate to better).

okay, yes, now THAT IS FREAKY!!! however, I am big into numerology and I've been seeing a lot of number sequences in 3 and 4 digits. Too bad you can't recall any of the numbers (or do you?).

vibration, eh? hmmm...this is REALLY WEIRD!!! (what DID you eat the night before this dream???) Besides vibration & whimper I'm not sure really WHAT to look up for this--as I've already looked up crabs. So, with vibration, it says I need to pay more attn to my intuition and emotional side and can also refer to some sexual need. all true! I couldn't find anything about whimpering though. I'll think on this all a bit more and see what I feel it could signify.

wow! this was one crazy dream! perhaps I NEED to see a psychiatrist!

after re-reading through this a second time, it seems to be really concentrating on the medical conference I think. more so then the 'pleasurable' trip to Turkey. But, I'm not sure yet if it is advising me to choose this one over the Turkey trip - IF - they are on the same weekend or what. I'll think this over a bit more and keep you posted.

Thank you for this very unusual and crazy dream!

yeah, isn't it interesting how these two things are popping up for everyone? something I really need to think about more for sure!

I've heard of the Angry Birds, but I don't play it. One of my sisters does though--ALL THE TIME! it's not my kind of thing though. I'm more of the sudoku or crossword game player on the computer. So, I'm not too sure what the Angry Birds could be telling me - yet.
