Fairy Lights-Four of Wands

Hemera

This is a truly beautiful painting and one of my favorites in the whole deck. This card shows a small person (a Fairy?) who is lifting a heavy looking egg and carrying it away. The eggs look like they are sparking and shining some inner magical light. Its a sunny day by the sea, the gulls are screeching and there is a high rock by the shore. There seems to be a castle built on the rock. Maybe it is the castle of that Fairy? The fairy is wearing something that looks like a Venetian mask of the plague doctor with that long yellow beak. Maybe the fairy is trying to pass as one of the gulls with that yellow beak?

The LWB gives rather a negative interpretation of this beautiful card but the picture seems to give a possibility to interpret this also in the traditional light, as the card of harvest, celebration, freedom and excitement. One can almost hear the excited screams of all those gulls.

Some questions that come to mind looking at this card:

* Is the Fairy taking someone else´s belongings or passing off someone else´s work as his own? (suggested in the LWB)
* Is the Fairy helping the gull move the eggs?
* Is the gull showing way or is it escaping in panic?
* Was the gull stealing someone´s eggs and the Fairy came to rescue?
* Is the nest abandoned and the eggs "legally" harvested by the Fairy/gulls?
* Does the castle belong to the Fairy or to someone else?
* Why does the Fairy wear the mask? In order to blend in amongst his gull friends or in order to be unobtrusive to the gulls?
* Is the storm (the black clouds) approaching or receding?
