The David Bowie Tarot by David Bowie

This thread has me rolling on the floor, I'm laughing so much.

I love Bowie and I was hoping that maybe... just maybe... a full deck illustrated by him would be published soon. But no. I was a bit disappointed, but after looking at the pictures a couple of times, I don't particularly hate them. He was clearly inspired by Fauvism and going for a simple-but-bold statement.

If these were ever sold as cards, I'd buy them just because I love him, but I probably wouldn't read with them. But who knows, maybe that style worked for him?

I believe that Bowie was just capitalising on his name...and perhaps friends encouraged him...? I think many actors and singers fall into a trap, over time, of believing they can master all of the arts. Or, maybe, Chimera is correct, and these cards, this style of art, moved Bowie, and helped him to read...

Hard to know, without Bowie himself interjecting, and giving reasons!

I don't think I would buy such a deck, myself, but that is personal. I don't think I would enjoy reading with them. Each to his own!
