Deity Identification spread

Card One is the deity — this is the equivalent to the first card in the Deity Communication Spread.

Card Two is one of the qualities/traits associated with them. I tend to read this as a more “negative” trait. Something that might seem scary or intimidating.

Card Three is another personality trait, but this one is usually read as being seen as more positive.

Card Four is what this deity rules over, or has power over.

Card Five will be for something that the deity is associated with, like a symbol or animal or something. (In my first test I got a Queen court card and the Queen itself was the answer there)

After a lot of research I found this and thought I'd share :)

Ahh, it's so weird seeing one of my spreads posted here...

The text doesn't quite make sense out of the context of the original post that links to the "companion spread", however.

This is the original post where the spread is from.

This is the Deity Communication Spread I referenced in the text writeup of the Identification spread! So hopefully it's clearer now

Deity identification spread

I did this spread earlier today and I'm stumped. I drew 8 of Pentacles as the "Which deity is this" card and, for the life of me, cannot figure out who it might be. It doesn't seem in sync with the Norse deity I mainly associate with. (I also drew the Page of Cups as the symbol/final card.) Anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks for initiations and clarifications.

Hmmm - I shall experiment, seeing as I have a Patron Deity with practically zero recorded info available about them (I'm eclectic Wiccan). :) Keeps 'em quite a mystery. :-D
Still - on the other hand - it means there's complete flexibility and no one can ever argue about anything ;-).

This spread is interesting. Thanks for sharing, Psychedelic-Feline. :)

For Card 1, I got Temperance. At first I didn't know what to make of it, but I looked up in the book "The Witches Goddess" by Janet and Stewart Farrar, to try to find a female deity that would have the qualities of the Temperance card. I did find in the glossary section of the book that Artemis is associated with the Nines, High Priestess and Temperance card. Artemis is also known as Diana to the Romans - who happens to be my Patron. :) (For any anyone interested, the tarot reference comes from Crowley's 777 as noted in "The Witches Goddess". I'm not entirely familiar with Crowley's work though.) Unfortunately, I don't own "The Witches God" by Janet and Stewart Farrar, but I assume anyone looking for male deity correspondences, that would be a go-to book for that and possibly relating it to tarot. :)

Considering you draw from a Norse Myth, perhaps the goddess Sif would be appropriate. She is an earth (pentacles) goddess also associated with family/wedlock/harmony (page of cups)

I have the reverse. 'The Witches God' by the Farrars, then I have 'The Goddess Companion' by Monaghan.

Temperance = Greek goddesses Iris, or Hebe come to mind (I read it somewhere at some point).

Snotra - goddess of prudence?

She's Frigga's handmaiden - that's page-like.
