that might work in 1961, but the book is set in current time 2015, just fueling the caddie and paying internet time would pretty much eat that up today
She is working at paying back the people her mom conned so quite a bit has been spent on that.

Steve Hockensmith is delightful, I had the pleasure of interviewing him for a podcast and he mentioned that most of the Tarot knowledge comes from a friend of his whereas the murder mystery know-how is from him. It looks like the third book will focus on the Deivl card: http://www.amazon.com/Give-Devil-His.../dp/0738742244

I forgot that! I was thinking it was set in the past, like his Holmes on the Range series.

I think everyone in fiction has a sort of plot-based income. It makes no sense in the world for the cast of Friends or How I Met Your Mother to live in the apartments that they do but or have as much free time as they have but then... that wouldn't make for nearly as interesting a storyline.

Thanks for the recommendation of both these books. I went ahead and ordered them.

I didn't realize "paranormal cozy" was a genre...I've had my nose stuck in reference books for the past few years. I've come up for air and anxious to read them now.

Oh thanks for the heads up on the third book! I'm really enjoying this series and look forward to this team writing many more.

Just started the first book. What a fun read!

PS
3% of 45,000 is $1350 a year or about $100 a month.
