The following is a true story....it happened to me at the University of Maine in 1990....haven't touched a Ouija board since!!!

Some friends and I decided it would
be "fun" to get drunk and play with a OUIJA board!!!
There were six of us...four at the board and two
observing. I was, of course, a complete skeptic, I
figured the only way the thing would move is if
someone was pushing it. But I decided to play along...

So, we had a notebook on the table, the room was dark
except for two large candles next to the board. We
asked to talk to a spirit (did not specify....mistake
number ONE!!!). At first, nothing happened. The
pointer started moving slowly, then my friend laughed
and admitted she was moving it....it went on that way
for a few minutes but then.....it REALLY started
moving, in fast, figure-eight patterns. I could tell by
the look on everyone's faces...no one was moving it!!!
We were pretty much crapping in our pants!!!!

So, lucky me, I was chosen to ask the questions and
write them down:

Q: What is your name??? (several times, finally a
response)
A: Mikey
Q: how old are you, Mikey?
A: 6
Q: Can you tell us why you are here???

Repeated three times, no response. Then, all of a
sudden the pointer started racing around the edge of
the board, very fast...Mikey was VERY upset!!!! We
were freaking out, but did not dare let go of the
pointer, for fear that the spirit might become trapped
in the room...or the board!!! So...we kept talking to
him, trying to calm him down.

Q: What is wrong Mikey???
Q: Tell us what is wrong, Mikey...
Q: It's OK Mikey, talk to us....

Finally, the pointer slowed down....he spelled out:

F-I-R-E

THEN we suddenly realized what the problem was...the
CANDLES next to the board were upsetting him!!!! We
turned on the light and blew out the candles....and
continued asking questions.

He told us he died in a fire in 1973...gave us an
address in Bangor (about 6 miles from campus).
Eventually he went away and we all breathed a HUGE
sigh of relief...and vowed NEVER to mess with OUIJA
again!!!

Oh yes...the following day, we drove to Bangor,
looking for 217 Maple Street (something like that).

We found number 215.....and then a huge, empty lot
next to it, where Mikey's house had once stood....

True story....I swear!

I will not use a Ouji Board, there is just something eerie about it.
lunakasha, your story makes me think that anyone that uses one must know the correct questions to ask. Mabee if one is to use an Ouji Board, one should be prepare first, which no one ever explains this to us ahead of time.

YES! And that is exactly what happened to me and my friends....we had NO clue of how to use it, and I guess we were not even taking it very seriously...but then when this spirit came to us, we were freaking out!!!

I would be curious to know if anyone here has had positive experiences with ouija, and maybe some advice for people who might like to try it....

Of course, the freaky stories are always fun to read too! })

My only experience with using a Quji Board was when I was about 12 years old at my cousins house.
We were asking the board who we would marry and the board spelled out JOE for me.
And years later I married JOE......

P.S. But not because the Quji board told me to LOL :)
By the way does anyone know what the word Quji means?
Strange word.

ouija breaks down into oui which is french for 'yes' and ja which i believe is german for 'yes'. so it means yes yes.

HOLMES

ah yes,

i used an oujia (which means yes yes board ) .
to try to reach some high level guides, as a result it never worked for me.

but my freinds well two had a low level entitiy attach itself to them.

once i had the board say it loved me for i picked it.

after a weekend of using it with the people and going home , i stoped to use the bathoom at a restaurant while family was eating, i went int the bathoom and went to reach paper towel and it pulled out fast, hard and loud by itself (only time i seen something move )
and it freaked me out, to this day i don't know if i did it due to being spaced or a spirit did trying to help me or get me to notice it.

that summer i spent listening to negative thoughts and voices saying burn the house down, do this and do that, and i said no i will not hurt nothing.

and then after that i got into spirituality such as channeling and angels and spiritual grounding and that stopped.

that is my experiences.

What kills me..is

Hi

THEY ARE SOLD AS TOYS...

I use the ouiji board. I actually love using it. BUT..I always cast a protective circle, ask that my guide control the board-relay msg' s from others and say Good Bye and Thank You.

I feel it is a way to communicate. But like any communication it has to be done right.

My only thing is I tend to know the answers before they are spelled out..this makes me wonder, I am told the Guide is channelling thru me. but I still wonder if its not me wanting the answer so bad that my psyche is controling the board. Kinda like the pendulum mystery

Blessings and remember, always ask for guidance and protection

Or....kinda like when you read tarot for yourself....trusting that you are following your intuition and spiritual guidance rather than seeing what you want to see in the cards....

You made an excellent point, cj, which is to always take the time to ask spirit for grounding and protection, regardless of which form of divination is being used...
