Minchiate - Game playing

I took a picture of the folding game board that came with the "The New Minchiate of Firenze" (Solleone 1981) and have posted this herein. There is an companion booklet included with the deck that speaks of the minchiate as a game, however, it is in Italian and I would have to re-type all of that just to run it through Babelfish or to post. I will search for an appropriate link relating to this a little later.

Following the game in a spiral is very unusual and it would be interesting to know what the 'places' in between the cards are. Was this played with a dice?

Yes

The Solleone set came with the gameboard and some dice, each die a different color.
