Input for a work-in-progress deck

Toasty

Greetings,

I'd like to ask for some feedback/input about a small tarot-based project I've started on. Basically, I hope to do a set of 22 pictures showing slight spoofs of the major arcana of the tarot, using characters from the Super Mario games.

This is not intended for publishing or printing, it's not even a very serious deck. Just a small gimmick, could be called fan art with a twist, or a really daft way for me to kill time (reading grave, deep symbolism into Mario games would be taking things a -little- bit too seriously). But light-hearted or not, I'd like to do this properly all the same. My tarot knowledge is -very- limited, so I'm doing these images mostly based on the scraps of knowledge I do have. If anyone here who does know their tarots would be kind enough to look at the links below and let me know what's right and/or wrong with these so far, that'd be most appreciated.

So far, only the first five cards have been completed (scanning made them look a bit crooked in some places). Links below, providing they work;

That's all there is so far, I'd just like to find out if, according to more well-informed opinion, I'm on the right track or not with these, and why.
Might make for a "my first tarot" kind of deck if I manage to complete it (in case you want to teach your kid brother to read fortunes...errr, maybe not ^^; ).

Thanks in advance,

Um , toasty, I cannot see any of the cards because when I click on your links a page comes up saying "access forbidden to external hosts"

Toasty- it looks interesting, but since I am not a habitue of computer games (yes, there are some of us out there), the wry twist you are giving them is lost on me. { I had no problem with the links} It looks as though you are enjoying it, so keep working and be sure to come up with a book to explain it to others. Be sure to write it and edit it yourself - I'm already being roasted for being the editor of a book that doesn't exist yet! Have fun, and send us some more links.

The key to view the cards, is to mark the link with your mouse, and copy and paste the link.
Mark the link to the card, hold in Ctrl + C.
Then mark the adress window, hold in Ctrl + V.
And press Enter.
Some might not have this problem, but this is the only way it works for me.

Thanks ^^. I'll try to supply less hit-or-miss links soon enough (that's yahoo for you...). Having a tricky time with the hierophant card...
Point well taken about the book. The references would only really make sense to those who know both the tarot and the games well, but that's a rare breed ^^;

I cut and pasted from the source code and I could still only see four of the five pictures. (Solandia - any ideas?)

I liked what I saw, though, they look great fun and including traditional symbols. I wonder what deck you are basing them on?

Anyway, it looks like a really good idea to me and I hope you manage to complete the 22 cards, that is a lot of drawing.

All the best,

FH
