Farschian: 6. On the Threshold?

zorya

another painting for which I couldn’t find a title.

a woman is sitting contentedly. she appears to be safe and protected
‘within‘ a garden. Behind her is an arched doorway, leading to... i imagine the wider world.

above her hangs a bird in a cage. To her right, a free bird. She and the free bird, appear to be looking at each other. She has her hand to her ear, as if listening to the bird.

to me, this card suggests, transcending or moving on to something else... going out into the world.

while the women in all the other cards are barefoot, here the woman wears shoes, as if to say, she is prepared; it is time to cross through the gate.

while she seems content sitting where she is, the caged bird seems to suggest, this contentment comes at a cost.

head the song of the free bird.
