I just had a thought, would it be correct to think of the emperor and empress as yin and yang?

I think so, especially if they show up together, or across from one another in a spread.

I would think of the Emperor as the consort of the Empress, and represents the self-consciousness. The empress the sub-consciousness. The high priestess has more of the Yin and Yang in her.
