I do the things that feel right for me to do. Don't know many spreads, except for the 1-2-3 spreads described by R. Pollack. So when I first used my Vertigo Tarot cards for a large reading I lay them like the above. Because you have to name your spread I will refer too it as the 'Nautilus' (because of the shape).

The number indicate the order the cards are drawn. When I first used it I only used it with the major arcana, but I now use it with both the major and minor arcana.

1-3 represent things that were
4-6 represent things that are now
7-9 represent things that may come to pass
the 10th card indicates how I interpret all previous cards.

card numbered 1,10 and 6 (1--10--6) give more information about the present.
card numbered 3,10 and 9 (9--10--3) give more information about that that may come.

I don't pose a specific question, but I use it to reflect on myself or others.

I personally do not think this spread is bound to this particular deck, but decided to mention my deck in the title for your information (I only spread them out this way because it feels like the right thing to do) and my way of reading is based on the same assumption (it feels right). Maybe someone finds it useful.

I hope the figure and my English is clear enough.
