Mah Johngg divination

Kyrielle

In Patricia Telesco's book "Futuretelling" there is a small section on divination using the tiles (or sometimes cards) from the Chinese game of Mah Johngg. There's another section on this kind of divination in "The Mammoth Book of Fortune Telling" by Celestine.

Has anyone used Mah Johngg for divination purposes? How do you do it?

And does anyone know where to get a version of Mah Johngg using cards instead of tiles?

kyrielle,

i've never used the game for divination, but you have me intrigued, lol. i've always been enamored by the four winds/directions aspect, and think it would indeed translate well into a divination tool.

i have a very old ivory set i bought years ago, at a rummage sale, that i never used. i couldn't find three other people interested in learning to play. wonder if i can find it......

for cards; go to google.com and type in 'ma johngg cards', and even better 'ma jongg cards'. there are lots of listings.
