RWS Tarot 101 Nine of Cups

PAMUYA

Nine of Cups

When looking into the Nine of Cups I see a man sitting with his nine cups behind him, his arms are folded, he looks quite pleased, satisfied on all levels (emotional, physical and sensual). It is called a “wish card”, getting what you wanted. Happiness is a state of mind, a time when you are able to see the perfection all around you. The cracks upon the walls are now seen as character instead of something to be fixed. Enjoy this time, but beware of excess.

Direct: Wish fulfilled sensual pleasure, happiness, assured future, pleasure.

Reversed: Unfulfilled whish, disappointment, sad, overindulgence, lack of money, vanity.

I read this somewhere, but I can't remember where, I had a book, I can't check that, since I gave it to my friend who also had the Rider-Waite deck and she seemed to be in more need of the book than I was.

Well, what I read is like he is satisfied, perhaps a bit smug. But just imagine for a minute, this is the bit that I read, I think, say that he was a bar tender and he was sitting behind the bar, and all those cups are the result of the other people having a good time, as such. Damn, I wish I can remember it correctly!

Something like it pleases him to share his sucess with others? or happy to be making money on others? That would make sense to share your happiness and sucess with others. Don't know about making money, this being the cup suit..what do you think?

Well, it is not about making money, but it is like making others happy, but he doesn't necessarily want praise for it, it just makes him happy to see others happy! Does that make sense?

Yes! It makes sense. Great point! ;)
