Can you find out if someone will cross your path looking at charts?

CelestialHorse

I have been thinking about this recently, but I wonder if you can see by looking at your own birth chart for like, THIS year and comparing the guy in question's birth chart to yours for this year? Would it say if you two will cross paths again? There a way to find out?

Heh I am pretty happy that in several areas the guy I have eyes on would be compatible :) 'cept for one area but others we would be good! YAYS! :)

I hope my question makes sense but put it simply, using astrology, can I find out when I will cross paths with someone by using our birth dates?

Looking at the birth chart? I don't think so. What I do look at is (in this order):
solar return for the year - is there an indication for romantic/love development at all? or about increased socialising?
If there is such, I look at transits and the moment when a major transit will hit a planet in the birth chart responsible for houses 5,7,8, 11... most probably, better if there are more transits affecting more of the rulers of these houses. Then I look at progressions and search for complementing progressions involving the rulers of these houses and the progressive Moon aspects. Then I look at directions and search for the same - a direction that will again confirm the possibility for such an event. Finally, if I find at least two major complementing each other signs but in most cases I look for three or more, I start making lunar returns and try to pinpoint the month in which it could most probably happen. Same with the man's chart.

The problem being that both me and he may very well meet someone but not each other and no matter how well our charts complement, there are six billion people on Earth... However, what I'd do is to get proactive if I find a point/time in the year when I see the astrological situation is quite beneficial. I'll do my best to make it happen.

Ronia has it spot on. Your natal chart will give a general picture of the sort of person that you will form a long term relationship with and/or marry It will give some information on whether there will be more than one 'marriage'and also a rough idea of time (early, middle, late in life) but that is about all.

To hone in on this year you need further derived charts, of which the solar return is one. But even if this year shows a strong likelihood that a long term relationship is likely, there's no guarantee that it will be him (though obviously if his SR chart has similar indications the probability of it being him rises)

There are lots of forecasting measures that could be used but none of them are person specific using natal data only. The only person specific method I know is to ask a horary question, such as

"Will X and I start a long term relationship this year?"

A totally fresh chart is generated for the question and that chart would be specific to you and him. If you are interested in a reading you could post such a question in the horary thread.

Thanks for the feedback! I think that is really cool! I am going to take that cracked.com article advice and try to learn new hobby or give myself something to do. I do find astrology interesting and want to try to touch it again but maybe it would be easier to start on my own chart first to learn?

I would love to figure out my chart more. I do have a few capricorns in my chart haha. I am an Aquarius, virgo rising, and sagitaurus is in moon. I already know I would not get on well with Scorpios and Tauruses.

(Heh, I kinda want to learn more about wicca but that's another topic).

Anyway I do have my birth chart, qualities and what not, but I would love to know what is in my future by using it? I don't know much about houses to be honest yet. I would love to learn more! :) Help would be great!

Astrological help

The first line on this astrological forum lists resources that you can take advantage of. Two groups of those resources should be looked at:

FIRST, look at all of the web-sites that are listed. Choose several of them, at least, and visit them daily. Put them on your favourites list and follow the articles or the comments that are posted each day. If you don't find enough that are of help to you, e-mail me or send a private message and I'll send more that I like.

SECOND, review the list of beginners books that are listed. Copy the names of those books and visit your local library to see which of them are available. Some libraries, like the one in my small town, are members of a larger swapping collective --- they can borrow the book for you. Read, read, read some more.

THIRD, create charts for those whom you know well. Study those charts and compare what you find with the books you read and the websites you follow. WRITE down the insights you gain from each of your family's or friend's charts.

Everyone advances in their astrological knowledge at different rates, everyone does not follow the same paths to knowledge. If you can, find one, two or several friends or others in your community who have an interest in astrology and then form a study group or an occasional get-together at homes or at a library meeting room or a coffee shop. Having one or more astrological friends is one of the most helpful things you can do to learn astrology. If that doesn't work, come here to the astrological forum or one of the web sites and ask someone to be your study-mate. Dave
