Yes, 'clear knowing'/claircognizance. I have that ability too. My biggest problem is at times not 'trusting' what I get. I just had this happen to me last week. We had an upright freezer that was not working properly and had to get rid of it. I put it out at the end of the driveway for our trash people to pick up as pre-arranged, and a neighbor came up to our door that day before the trash people came asking if he could have it. Apparently, he is a repair man and thinks he can fix it. So, I gave it to him instead.
Funny thing is, right after this freezer died on us, and we had replaced it with two smaller and new freezers, I had the above scenario play out in my mind. The whole scenario almost word for word, except that the mans face in my scenario was not visible--it was a blur. Otherwise, I'd had known it was our neighbor "C". When this scenario did play out for me--I was very much awake--it was in the middle of the day--not tired at all--but I just kept pushing it aside thinking it was my imagination. I do this often with things.
Anyway, you did ask about developing this and there are a few exercises that you can do. I found this website that offers some fantastic exercises for developing many of the clair abilities people wish to have. just do a search for 'claircognizance' and you'll find it--

actually, I may as well copy that portion here--
Claircognizance Exercises
While sitting quietly, close your eyes and focus your attention on the top of your head. Visualize a large funnel or cone above your head, the narrowest point just above your head, extending upward to the widest point, about a foot above your head. Notice any impressions you receive, no matter how faint or unusual they may be. You can do this while thinking about a specific event or situation, and see if you can predict certain things, such as things that might happen to you that day, or perhaps people you will run into unexpectedly. Or you can just do this in a general way, by opening yourself to whatever may come through. It is important to acknowledge what you receive. Don't just chalk it up to imagination right away. Make a note of what you perceive, no matter how strange or farfetched it might seem at first. With practice you'll discover your accuracy improving, and likely this ability will begin activating itself without any effort on your part. You'll be one of those people who say, "I just know."
Another exercise that I often share with others is with your tarot deck. Shuffle the deck well and with your eyes closed, try to determine which card is on top. Perhaps instead of trying to figure out the exact card--try to determine first what colors are in the card, and/or if the character in the card is a woman or man. something rather easy like that. Don't beat yourself up over it if you don't get it right, because even when you do have the clairgonizant ability-you're not going to always be 100%.
There use to be and may still be a game here on AT that is great for developing this skill as well. I will try to do a search for it and come back to add it here. But it involved someone 'hiding' an object in their home--and other people here on AT would have to find it or describe it. It is really a fun game, so I do hope it is still ongoing. It is a great way to develop this ability, as well as your clairvoyant ability too.
The other two pieces of advice I would have for you is to meditate - even if only for 5 minutes a day. meditation really seems to help our abilities to take hold, in my opinion. Its not easy at times to find even 5 minutes to meditate--but trust me, if you can--it will serve you well. so, try to incorporate a meditation time into your busy schedule.
The other piece of advice that I have is for you to read everything you can get ahold of that has to do with psychic abilities. do a google search for claircognizance and any other of the clairs. You'll find a lot of information on the web. read, read, read and read some more! Also, check out you tube for any meditations they may have that also will deal with claircognizance development. There are sure to be many on there.
and, don't try to 'rush' yourself. take it as it comes. be patient. be consistent with your practice and meditation. all this will help. there are bound to be days/weeks when you might not have the time to do it--don't beat yourself up over that--just get back to it as soon as you are able. with patience, practice and diligence, it will develop stronger and you'll get a better hold of this ability. Oh! and most important of all---
HAVE FUN WITH IT!!!
