Clow Cards: The Silent

Fairly straight-forward, really. Now is the time to observe casually from a distance and not to go diving in with opinions, solutions or suggestions. Being silent will draw out others to be vocal, and this may actually highlight what has either been hidden, or may give you some food for thought as to how to approach an issue.

It can show you are either not being vocal enough and letting others take leadership, or it can indicate you are always speaking before thinking, thus confounding an issue.

The Silent (Eight of Hearts [Cups])

Upright: An abandonment of one's current path in life, disappointment in love, misery and repining without cause, desire to leave on'e success for something higher. The movement, or progress in this card is the shedding of old relationships, old loves, familiar things. Even if every day seems to be repetitive, do not be driven to desperation. An understanding person is always nearby.

Reverse: Search for pleasure, seeking joy or success, a new love interest

Meanings inspired from the anime

The Silent is a card who hates noise. She wishes to keep her surroundings quiet at all times. It could then symbolize the need to stay silent / refrain from getting involved in a certain situation. Or it could represent a quiet person.

This card has the ability to mute people and even to teleport them away if they make any disruptive sound. In the anime, she took refuge in a museum, where people are expected to stay silent. To me this card could also be about enforcing rules, or an advice reminding us we should "obey the rules".

The Silent is under the power of the Dark, The Moon and is related to Eastern magic.
