I'm putting this here because it does involve Tarot and it just seemed to me it would go here but if not, then I'm happy to let the mods move it.
I owned a first edition Tea Leaf Oracle and then recently got the second printing set too, so I decided to use them in a way I thought up that works really well, I think. I thought I'd post here in case anyone else wants to try it themselves if they have two sets of the Tea Leaf Oracle.
What I did was to mix both sets of the cards together in one big bag. The purpose of mixing the two decks like this was to allow for recurring patterns to show up in the year spread instead of just using one deck and not having that option.
To work with this huge spread, it's essential to keep detailed notes, since you'll be returning six months worth of cards to the mixing bag. You'll need the notes to refer to when looking back over the year.
First I laid out the cards for the first six months. This is September so I began with September and laid out five more month cards. To each of the six spots I then drew four cards and put each series of four on the month they were drawn for. The months were September, October, November, December, January, and February.
After reading the cards for those six months, I then used a Tarot deck to add more information to any of the months' readings that I wanted more information about.
Once I did that, then I returned all the cards back to the mixing bag and shuffled my Tarot deck and sat it aside again.
Then I put out the cards for March, April, May, June, July, and August, and drew the four cards for each month again. I read those, filled in with Tarot where it seemed necessary as before, and then went back to review my notes to make sure I'd gotten everything.
This is a huge reading and quite time-consuming but very insightful and interesting. I can't wait to do another one.
