Looking for a, er, not terribly difficult way to learn astrology

Asbestos Mango

I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not going to learn astrology from a book. There are certain kinds of information I can learn and retain from reading, but astrology is not one of them. When it comes to things mystical, I'm very much a visual learner.

So what I'm wondering is, is there a really good kit out there with cards with pictures and maybe one of those wheely charts where you turn the inside card so the thing your looking to correspond with on the outer wheel can appear in a window? I mean, I'm not expecting to be able to learn to create a horoscope with one of these things, but, well, just something to master the basics, and move on from there to the more complex stuff later?

Thanks.

I don't know of anything with that kind of wheel w/ the cutouts (I think I know the sort of thing you mean :) ), but the closest I can think of is this: The Astrology Kit

I had the kit many years ago, in high school. The text is written by a leading psychological/mythological astrologer, Liz Greene. It teaches you to erect a simple chart, and doing so kind of teaches you the pieces-parts along the way. You still must look up the meanings in the book, but you have the physical illustrated zodiac wheel upon which you pencil the planets w/ a wax pencil. That gives learning a visual component and gives you a feel for the way things relate on the chart (and in astrology in general).

Better than nothing, maybe? Looks like they are listed for very cheap, but if you order one I'd ask the seller first if they have all the components so you don't end up with the book w/out the notepad & chart.

I don't know anything about these other two, so I can't vouch for them, but they came up in my Amazon search and they look kind of interesting:
--Astrology Learning Cards (flash cards)
--and maybe these: Astrology Reading Cards (w/ Book)

Hi, this is a good beginning discussion on tropical versus sidereal astrology. I am trying to find a really good U-tube video I saw last fall, could not find it yet, but there is at least one very good video on Utube that can put things into more of a 3-d picture.

I am still a beginner on the astrology, so don't expect much from me. I just learned enough to help with tarot. I don't want to go further in astrology until I decide whether to use sidereal(Vedic) or tropical(western).

A number of Astrology computer programs have 'clickable' charts, which brings up a simple description if you click on a symbol, however these tend to be quite expensive. I know Solar Fire has this facility. Other than that and the Liz Greene kit, I don't know of anything that does this apart from the rather specialist Delphic Oracle - which is too narrow in scope for your needs.

It's actually something that should exist, as it would cater for a major learning group who prefer hands on.

Matrix software offers this feature. WinExpress is a $100 package which is sometimes on sale for $50 or $60 that does this nicely. Dave Monroe
