Rainbow Trail: Bridge to the Future (by lalalibra)

"Walk on a rainbow trail, walk on trail of song, and all about you will be beauty... There is a way out of every dark mist, over a rainbow trail."
-Navajo song

A spread inspired by the above quote, for helping to find hope in darkness... To accept and grow from the past... To understand the grand scheme of things... To overcome inner/outer blocks in order to regain a sense of inner power and peace... to find truth by confronting how we may block the healing process.

In reading, if any of the cards seem to come up as "negative" to you, then it may point directly to these blocks or issues that need addressing. It is important to believe in the strength of your perception to see the light.

The spread is similar to a past-present-future format, except there is a card for bridging the present and the future.

Cards 0, 1, and 2 show how you relate to aspects of the past and the environment/situation, while cards 0, 3, and 4 represent solutions and the future/outcome.

.....2....4..
..1....3....
.....0......

Card "0" is there to represent the self, and I numbered that card as such so that it would be easier to exclude should you not prefer that, such as if you may want a simpler spread... if so, then here is another option for a suggested layout:

...............4..
...........3......
.......2.........
...1.............

0. Seed
Represents yourself, or your state regarding your inner potential to bloom into the flower that you truly are, from having to take in the experience of life... This card may represent aspects of inner wisdom or strength that may be waiting to bloom. Are you properly accepting the flow of available nutrients from the environment? Are you breaking through the shell and reaching for the light?

"See how the flower leans instinctively..." -Kate Bush

1. Storm - The Past
The storm you have weathered. Although storms may bring disruption and turbulence, they are a natural and essential part of the water cycle, carrying the nourishing waters that give life. This card may represent aspects of seemingly less favorable conditions that bring valuable lessons to learn from... to grow from.

2. Mist - The Present
The dark misty clouds that are left over from the passing storm. The clouds may obscure the sun, leaving the skies looking gray. But it is through such conditions in which we must look forward to the warm sunshine, and to remember its presence beyond the clouds. It is here that we look up to find the fortune of seeing a rainbow's beauty...
This card may show areas that need awareness or healing, such as in your current situation or perspective, or in understanding and releasing the past. It may show ways that the past may still haunt you and prevent you from enjoying yourself or from seeing beauty and truth, such as in worrying or "staying inside" even after the rain has cleared.

3. Rainbow trail - Bridge to the Future
Representing the way out of darkness, the solution in being hopeful and looking on the bright side, or in being open to receiving guidance either from yourself or others, or in taking action... This card may show ways in which you can nourish yourself, such as in doing something you enjoy... Seeing the rainbow takes us into the present moment. It may bring us to appreciate what made the rainbow possible -- the rainy weather, as well as the freedom of having open eyes, in being willing to to "go outside." It is the joy and magic in finding meaning... in seeing beautiful color among the gray.

4. The Sun ... the Future or Outcome...
This card represents the sun that is always shining, even beyond the dark, cloudy veil. It may be something to keep in mind while searching for your rainbow... The "pot of gold" which is the fulfillment or abundance that your soul or higher self is reaching for... It may represent being one with truth, such as being at peace with yourself, or in understanding the cycles of life... The sun also mirrors the blooming flowers that take in the light... and so it mirrors the nature of our inner power...
