Rider - Ship - heart / base: tree - Suggestions?

Dew

Wow I'm interested that rider (man on moving horse) and ship (sailing vast ocean) aren't action cards? They are moving which to my newbie brain suggests action - wondering if you can explain i missed! Thanks in anticipation ;)

Hey,

Rider and ship are usually tonal descriptions of another thing.
Rider shows a positive message but that's all you get. The other cards say what that's about.
Ship shows yearning or foreign but it's the cards near it that tell us who that's about.

I get what you are saying.
Sometimes we can miss the obvious top. So your idea could be just as right as the others we came up with.

Thanks

Thanks Dew really appreciated that. It's this sort of niche subtle stuff that's so important to know in a reading thank you very much xx I haven't got to the point where I would know an action card from a tonal card - is there a rule or someway of knowing - is it specific to the cards or dependent on what's around them? - thank you xx

Oh I made up that word tonal - for this context I mean - I'm not a specialist. The more you use them, the more you'll see how they blend. After I posted I thought oh, on their own they mean exactly what you said. But when they're with say dog or snake, there's a whole different music they play.
They can all be tonal (my Term) or more determinant in their impact but it depends on combinations.
I didn't see these ones as showing no action but that's why I posted. I'm too close to the situation to get an objective view. I think it's the objective view that kind of sees how they fall together.
So what I was saying before was rider with dog means to me message that's positive and friendly or from a friend. Dog carries more spotlight (this goes back to the question too...)
Whereas rider with lily might be a sexual message or delivery. Again the dominant thing is the lily card. The rider kind of infers a suggestion of communication somehow.

Thanks Dew for explaining - I love how these cards speak - sometimes they are loud and other times it's just whispers I think? X

Yes, it sounds cliched but it depends how you read them. Your method. Pretty dynamic though and not always straight forward. Kind like a weave - you'll get it but you've got to be prepared to bounce the ball of your understanding back and forth between the cards and listen to the sitters feedback a few times until you get a feel for it. :)

The first two cards seem to be more about your message: news (Rider) received - in this case sent - from afar (Ship). Ship can also suggest an opportunity for betterment (usually through some kind of enterprise). A self-improvement initiative taken through moving to a distant (as in not in the immediate region) place would also be within the scope. The Heart tells me your ex would receive the message in a charitable light and would be inclined to cooperate. But I don't think you received a final "yes" or "no" here, just a reasonably strong possibility for a favorable reaction.

I don't use base cards in Lenormand (or any other tarot conventions), so I won't comment on that.

Thanks, yes. Right on.
Favourable reception (Heart) thats good.
Then, who knows? Sounds like description of what I presented to him. So literal.
The situation thus far is no overt reply.
