Tarot Journal

Raistlin

I have never kept a journal or a diary but I think it may help me to keep track of my daily readings for myself and my husband. Are there any threads relating to this, I have searched but I havent found anything really applicable, I probably did it incorrectly. :)

I battle to remember the actual cards that come through in the spreads, I remember the overall message but not the cards, which is strange because I have an annoyingly brilliant memory, so I can only think that it is meant to be so.

i sometimes write my reading on my journal, including the spread i use, the meanings, and my interpretations in the whole spread. it really helps me improving my reading tarot intuition.

if you're looking for a journal, maybe you can take a look at this AT member's journal format:

There have been a few threads about journalling.
Here's two to get you started, I'm sure there are more:

Some people have very organised journals with pages for each card etc..
Me I just write down the cards drawn at the start of the reading, write a little about each in turn and then try and bring it together. Basically as you would do by talking out loud but I don't do that so I verbalise on the page.

House of God

Deal:
He is a loose leaf book;
chance pages' mirror,
reflective of life in
all two dimensions,
his flesh and his blood are
pigment and paper,
cards shuffled each morning
and randomly cut.
Last week he was the Fool
four days on the trot
(his best trousers were torn
got bit by a dog),
Ten of Coins yesterday,
today: House of God.

I keep a journal and post my daily readings in there along with all of my other writing and logs, lists, etc. I usually Google images to get nice pictures of cards I am studying or the ones that keeo coming up for me, and paste them in there. I sometimes use the images as a prompt for other writing. I love my journal. Those are just a few ideas.

I also have a journal I keep for only readings. mostly other peoples, but if I am trying out a new spread on myself, or it is a longer, more detailed reading, I put it in that journal.
