He got his interest from his then wife, Sylvia Plath, who used the Tarot to structure the manuscript of Ariel. Her famous poem, Daddy, mentions the Tarot. Listen to her read it here:

interesting stuff, i like her as a poet, didn't realize the tarot connection though.

her reading is way over-dramatic though, lol. reminds me of why i love reading poetry but rarely enjoy poetry readings...
