Hi guyss, so there is a deck, well just a card. It's a death card in supernatural season 1 episode 12? That I'm very interested in. So im just testing my luck and see if anyone here has any clue or idea about which deck that card belongs???

It looks like it's a prop deck to me and they've used the Visconti Tarot as a starting point and added to the images to make it look more spooky: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/visconti/

Does the show have to pay royalties to the company for editing a purchased deck, even if the original Visconti images are very old?

In most instances even if you 'alter' a copyrighted image, you have to have permission to do so, and usually pay a royalty, too. This is why many shows that use only 3 or 4 Tarot cards in an episode have their Art Dept make up 'prop cards' that are recognizable as a Tarot card but not utilizing any one deck.
Using someone else's 'anything' usually involves a copyright, somewhere.
It does not matter 'how old' something is if someone currently holds the copyright for it. If something is not in the Public Domain someone either has the copyright or the licensing rights to it.
