The Revolution of The Little White Books

Kiama

Well, well, well, Llewellyn...

It seems their Little White Books, (the tiny booklets you get with each Tarot deck) have been revolutionised... All the decks which were published in 2000 onwards have now got what is known as Mimi-books, which are like those 'Little Book of Calm' things... but a bit bigger, and have front covers and back covers, and colour, and are really great... The Nigel Jackson has it, and the World Spirit, but that's all I've seen that has it so far...

Llewellyn have gone up in my estimation...

Long live the Bigger Little White (And Colour) Books!

Kiama,

Do you have the World Spirit deck? I have chased it all over the web. I think I like it so much.

What defines LWB, I think, is "little." Shuffle them like a deck of cards, put 'em in with any deck, and the results would be about the same.

Hi,

They certainly are nice, I have 3 of them.

Not quite as detailed as some of the US Games deck and book sets, but much more convenient packaging.

They're so much better than what I've seen refered to on another list as the 'Little Worthless Book'.

Talisman: No, I love the deck, but I only had a limited amount of money (Most of my wages) in my pocket to spend on decks. I had already bought the Nigel Jackson, Mythic, and Gendron that day... But I really love the deck. Next week, when I get paid, I'm going straight into that bookshop and buying that deck!

Kewl, tarotbear!

I promise...good things about Llewellyn. Especially if they accept your manuscript. :)

Jimilyn
who drifts on to the next thread whistpering to herself that Llewellyn is one of the finest publishing companies around and that they will have excellent taste in accepting tarotbear's manuscript...

Llewellyn are good, but they don't half publish some complete bull poo sometimes! In fact, most of their books are only bought cuz they have the word Wicca in the title.

Fact: My friend hans, a Northern Heathen, has a friend who rote his uni dissertation on Odinism. He sent the manuscript off to Llewellyn who said it was brilliant, but they would only publish it if he put the word "Wicca' somewhere in the title... Needless to say the man took bak his manuscript, and sent it off to another publishing agency, who I think, as far as I know, have accepted it...

However, every now and again, Llewellyn do publish GREAT books, but their strong point is their tarot decks.... They are of a higher quality I feel than most otyher publlishers....

But Llewellyn are bound to get you heaps of money if they accept your manuscript, Tarotbear, so good for you, and good luck!

If they publish you, I'll be one of the first to buy that book....

PS- Just in case, and to be really sure.. Entitle your manuscript 'Wiccan Tarot', in big, teeny-bopper font, with laodsa really gorgeous girls on the front wearing all black and huge pentagrams... Ooohh.. appealing. Nah, sorry about my horrible sense of humour. And nothing against Goth, teens, Wiccan,s Witches, tarot readers, etc...

Okay.. Please don't lynch me!
