The Tarot of Vampyres - Lord of Skulls

What a stormy and foggy night! The Lord here is fully dressed in black. He also wears a cloak and we cannot see his face at all, if he has one of course! The horse, just like his master, is black as well, with glowing eyes. The lord shows to us the emblem of his suit, a skull, as if we knew the meaning behind it (to threaten us? to make us recognize it's him?). The horse only stands on two paws and has stopped in front of a thorny shrub. Behind the rider there are mountains and what seems like a cemetery. The Lord definitively looks ferocious. Who or what is he hunting?

The Tarot of Vampyres is inspired by the Thoth Tarot so this card is the Knight of Disks in the Thoth Tarot and the King of Pentacles in the RWS.
